What is going on Karma Nation! Most of you might know me as the ‘soccer guy’ but I am actually play pretty high volume when it comes to MLB and NFL. I focus a lot on cash games but I love the smaller sites. Last year I was in the NFL Championship on FantasyDraft and was just a few points away from a HUGE payday (Thank you for the 0 Blake Jarwin).
Every week I will be writing my favorite Yahoo! Cash plays for the week. I will provide a top cash play, a secondary cash play, and a GPP pivot. The format will be very similar to how I write the soccer Hat-Trick. I will try to not cite any stats, but if you want to know where I get my stats from check our proprietary NFL Data Dashboard @ DFSKarma.com. Quarterback
Top Cash Play: Jameis Winston gets an elite matchup against San Francisco for only $31. This matchup should shoot up and a game stack should be pretty popular in all formats. This is Winston’s ‘last chance’ and he has the weapons to do some damage.
Secondary Cash: Lamar Jackson is only $26 and he has a nice floor thanks to his running ability. I have no issue dropping down from Winston to Lamar if I need the additional $5 to spend up somewhere else.
Top GPP Play: Fitzmagic is only $22 and he will be about 2-5% owned. If you are playing in the main GPP this week (which you should absolutely play) you need the ownership leverage. Fitzmagic could finish with negative points but he could also have a nice ceiling game against a top defense. Very risky play only recommended for multiple entries.
Running Back
Top Cash Play: Dalvin Cook $27 should be the absolute lock in all cash formats. He gets a premium matchup against the Falcons and he is going to catch a ton of balls.
Secondary Cash: Nick Chubb $23 gets the Titans in their home opener. I am a huge believer of Chubb this season and so are the Browns by trading Duke Johnson. Love him in a stack with the Browns defense.
Top GPP play: James Conner $32 is going to be SUPER low owned and we know he has an extremely high ceiling. Most players will not notice that this game is part of the main slate and they will not roster him.
Wide Receiver
Top Cash Play: Kenny Golladay $15 is an absolute steal! The game script should help him in a pace up opportunity and he is going to take a huge leap this year. He is probably not going to be a popular cash play but I absolutely love him for half the price of OBJ.
Secondary Cash: If we love Winston, you know we absolutely love Mike Evans $28. It doesn’t matter if he will be in Sherman’s side or not. Evans is just a HUGE target and will get double digit targets.
Top GPP play: Everyone will be focusing on Dalvin Cook, so why not get some absolutely huge leverage with Adam Thielen for $29? He should not be the second most expensive wide receiver but that just helps him be 0% owned.
Tight End
Top Cash Play: I am sure some people will pay $27 for Kelce or Ertz, but I actually prefer to pay down and play Evan Engram for $19. I have a ton of shares of him in season long and you should as well. He will get a ton of looks with the lack of options they have and with Eli’s failing arm.
Secondary Cash: If you do have a ton of money left over, just pay all the way up to Kelce. With Gronk ‘retired’ Kelce takes the spot for the absolute best. Even in a tough matchup Kelce is still the top play.
Top GPP Play: Imagine rostering Jason Witten at 55 years old? Well… I will have at least one lineup with him. It is more about how bad the Giants have been against the TE in the past couple years rather than Witten himself. For $13 you could do worse.
For defense I will have a ton of Browns and Jaguars shares. The Browns get a very nice matchup and love the Chubb correlation play. The Jax get the toughest matchup in the league but they are still full of talent and they are min priced at $11.
