What’s up guys! We had an amazing article yesterday and absolutely smashed the slate, hitting almost every call, besides T1 losing. Today, we have a pretty interesting slate with harder matchups to predict, I’m gonna be going more in depth on certain matchups, let’s get right into it.
LPL Matches
RNG vs JDG (JDG-245)
This should be a good series, RNG showed their inconsistencies once again, beating VG and OMG but losing to LNG. LNG isn’t that good, but they somehow grinded out a win vs FPX, and outdrafted RNG. RNG has a pretty solid squad, but not really sure why Cryin hasn’t seen a start yet. They must be getting him acclimated before they throw him out there. Although they have a really solid overall squad from top to bottom, I think that JDG edges them in almost every lane, the only lane that could be up for grabs is the bottom lane. JDG should dominate the top lane with Zoom, and I think that this series should end up in a JDG victory. I can see it being 2-1, with RNG taking a game but overall JDG should win in a sweep or 2-1 fashion. JDG was the team to beat last split once they got Zoom back, and they won it all. I’m gonna be pretty overexposed to JDG here- RNG has drafting issues and JDG has a great coach who will exploit that, especially with them starting on the blue side. This should be a good JDG win showing RNG that they are still a level below the top teams, even though they came out on fire. JDG has good dragon and rift herald control at 56.7%DRA, and 62.1%RH, which should help them snowball this game.
My favorite plays from this game- ALL are in play, from top to bottom, but my main focuses are Zoom, Kanavi and LoKen.
V5 vs BLG (V5-180)
BLG got extremely lucky and beat EStar as Wei had ignite as a spell instead of smite, as he was playing solo queue prior to the games, and the refs didn’t let them restart the game. BLG barely won game one and they got steamrolled in game 2, so this could have been a way different 2-0 sweep for Estar. This is gonna be a close series I can see going either way. Personally, I think it will be a 2-1, but which team wins? I’ll go with V5. They have been a bit overhyped purely based off the fact that they actually WON a series, and their squad isn’t looking that bad honestly. SamD and PpGod have looked good together, and their midlaner Mole has been picking up the slack as well. V5 have good vision control and have a 50% DRA, and I’m liking the way they are trending up this split. They have motivation, and even though they lost to the better team in LGD, they still took a game from LGD, which is very encouraging. They have the highest implied kills on the slate at 29.0.
My favorite plays from this game- SamD, Ppgod, Mole
LCK Matches
KT vs DYN (KT-315)
KT made some big roster changes to add onto their already solid and thriving team. Team Dynamics is a challengers team that maneuvered their way into making it into the LCK. They are not a great team, I watched the challengers matches vs the LCK teams in the regulation series and it was pretty meh. I think KT should be able to steamroll this one to a 2-0 sweep, but we have to make sure we have the starters here- KT added Smeb, who was a former KT All-Worlds top laner, and Ucal, who was on GRF and had a very solid Spring Split. Will they start them over SoHwan and Kuro? I don’t know, but I will say I think they start Smeb over SoHwan, and keep Kuro over Ucal. This should be a good 2-0 series and KT should start off the season with a dominating performance, they have the highest IMKT out of all LCK teams today at 27.0. Proceed with caution here, need starters for sure, the locks to start are definitely BonO, Aiming and TusiN, and those are my favorite plays from this squad.
APK (aka SP) vs HLE (HLE-140)
This should be an interesting match, Viper signed to HLE as GRF was regulated, and he is a stud. He has insane talent and although the Varus has been used less and less in the LPL so far, I’m interested to see if Viper will still roll it out in the LCK. He should start over Vsta, and their starting lineup should look something along the lines of CuVee, Haru, Lava, Viper and Lehends. Both these teams play pretty fast, which is why this game in particular has some GPP upside to it. Viper should add a whole different aspect to this HLE team, and even though Mickey returns to APK I think that HLE still rounds out to be the better team here, as Viper has had history with Lehends in the past, so the chemistry shouldn’t be an issue. Beware, this is the last game on the slate so we won’t have starting lineups until 6 AM ish, it’s gonna be risky and should be lower owned. HLE 2-1 is my prediction.
My favorite plays from this game- Viper, Haru, Lehends
Thanks for reading! This is definitely an odd slate with a lot of the games being closer and can go either way. To wrap up, I like JDG, V5, HLE, and KT today. We could see some funky lineups out there tonight!
