Slate Thoughts:
This slate appears pretty straight forward, minus one LCK match. RNG and TES from the LPL side are strong favorites to not only win their series tonight, but win via sweeps. RNG come into tonight as the biggest favorites on the slate at -1800, and face a V5 squad that for the most part have been rather poor this split. RNG are on a two series win streak, sweeping both of their previous opponents, and looking rather dominant during those series. RNG is going to be a squad I focus my cash builds around tonight, and will even have plenty of exposure to them in tournaments as well.
TES is the other LPL squad that finds themselves in a favorable spot tonight. They are facing a BLG team that have had a fairly strong split thus far, and are definitely a team that can take this series if TES are not at the top of their games. BLG are coming into this series off of 4 straight series wins, and looking to make it 5 tonight. Unfortunately, they will be tasked with trying to stop one of the strongest and most talented teams in the LPL, Top Esports. TES have had a good split so far, but not quite to the lofty standards that TES is held too. They are coming into this series vs. BLG off of a loss to Suning. Prior to that loss to Suning, TES had swept their previous two opponents, one of which was the top LPL team, EDG. I really like TES to bounce back tonight, and pick up a big win vs. BLG. Knight and Jackeylove have been huge for this squad in their wins, and I don’t expect that to change tonight. TES will be a team I get plenty of exposure too in tournaments tonight. It is really challenging trying to stack both LPL favorites tonight, so we will either have to play them with a LPL dog, or an LCK squad.
On the LCK side of things we have Damwon, who have really started playing well over their last 3 series, winning all three via sweep. Ghost seems to have finally figured out things, and with the continued strong play from canyon and Showmaker, I really like where this team is headed. I expect DK to keep up their strong play here vs. a NS team that has played well this split as well. NS did beat this DK team a few weeks ago, but that was prior to this Damwon team hitting its stride. Look for Damwon to sweep this series, and if they are able to accomplish that, they should score fairly well here. I really like pairing Damwon with RNG in cash games tonight.
