Slate Thoughts:
It appears we have another exciting slate on our hands tonight, especially on the LPL side. I expect all three LPL series to be very competitive and all three dogs are live here. With that said, a team that I am really high on is LNG. They are the top ranked team in the LPL, and have been playing extremely well together so far this split. They have beat some very tough teams in JDG and FPX. They come into their matchup vs. IG as -190 favorites. IG is a team that is so hard to judge. In some series they come out and look like one of the top teams in the LPL, and the next they come out and look like they should be grouped with team like V5. I could see IG coming away with a victory here, but I side with LNG, and expect them to keep their phenomenal game play rolling here. Tarzan, icon and Ale are my top targets from this LNG squad tonight.
Next, we have a very good match between two LPL heavyweights. EDG will take on JDG in a match that should provide us with plenty of fantasy goodness. This should be a pace up spot for EDG, giving them high ceilings, should they come away victorious. EDG currently have the second highest projected kill total on the slate, only behind Sunning. Look for Scout and Viper to have big nights for EDG and lead them to a victory over JDG. Of all the LPL teams, I believe EDG have the best chance at a sweep, however, I do not expect that to happen. JDG are a very solid team, and I can see them stealing a game from EDG tonight.
Sunning come into their matchup vs LGD tonight as pretty healthy favorites and also come in with the highest projected kill total on the slate. However, out of all the LPL underdogs tonight, LGD may be my favorite to target. Shad0w is someone I love to target from this LGD squad, due to being one of the top ranked players in the LPL in kill participation rate. Sunning will garner much of the ownership in this matchup, giving LGD low ownership and great for tournaments. If Sunning do come away with a victory tongiht, they should have some really nice kill totals. LGD average over 20 deaths in their losses.
I do not really want to target any of the LCK teams tonight, though a slight case for KT Rolster could be made. They have a favorable matchup vs. LSB tonight. Also, T1’s team slot could be targeted tonight as a one off play, but I largely will avoid the LCK teams in my builds tonight.
My predictions for tonight are as follows:
T1 win 2-0; KT win 2-1; LNG win 2-1; EDG win 2-1; LGD win 2-1
