Slate Thoughts:
This slate is absolutely insane! You could make a strong case for any of these teams winning their matchups tonight. I fully expect to see multiple underdogs win tonight. With that, the team that I like the most tonight, and its purely due to the upside they posses, is RNG. RNG come into this matchup vs. FPX as slight underdogs. They finally looked more like their pre-summer split selves in their last matchup, however, it was against one of the worst teams in the LPL. I want to make sure I am getting exposure to both sides of here, due to the high number of projected kills. I lean towards RNG here slightly and think they win a tightly contested series 2-1.
OMG is taking on BLG in a series that I see OMG coming out victorious in. OMG have played very well this split, and big reason why is the addition of Creme in the MID lane. Look for him to have a big series here, and is my top captain option from this OMG squad. OMG lead BLG in GPM, DRA% and GDM. I do expect this series to go all three games, but feel OMG has the stronger team, and have been playing better overall. Having some exposure to BLG is not a bad idea here, because I expect this winner of this series to score well, and come in only below the winner of the FPX/RNG series.
I believe it makes a ton of sense to focus on the LPL side of things tonight, because they all three project to be higher kill games than the LCK matches project. However, I did this last night, and KT ended up being one of the highest scoring teams. If I were to target an LCK squad in tournaments, it would be GEN.
My score predictions for tonight are as follows:
GEN win 2-1; NS win 2-1; OMG win 2-1; RNG win 2-1; Team WE win 2-1.
