Slate Thoughts:
We have our first LCS slate of the summer split tonight, and it brings us some exciting matchups. The main thing I am interested in watching is how K1ng meshes with this C9 squad, after being brought up to replace Zven from the academy squad. Zven really wasn’t playing all that bad, so the move was kind of surprising. However, K1ng is an absolute free square on FD as he is priced at 7700 over there. Lock him in on FD and don’t think twice about it. I expect C9 to handle business fairly easy tonight vs. an overmatched Golden Guardians squad. C9 are projected for the most kills on this slate with an 18 kill projection. C9 is your sure fire cash play today, and with the upside they present, they can be used in all formats tonight.
The few other squads I may be looking to target in cash games today are 100T and TL. 100T picked up one of my favorite MID’s from the LEC in Abbedagge. I think the addition of Abbeddage to this 100T team puts them in a great position to challenge the likes of C9 this split. 100T come into this matchup as -240 favorites and have a 15 kill projection. I see this kill total being low for them, and fully expect them to exceed 15 kills in this matchup. I am really excited to see how this team rolls with Abbedagge. 100T is a team you can use in cash games with C9 or they can be played in GPP’s as well. Love the upside of 100T in this matchup.
One of the underdogs that I am targeting on this slate is Dignitas. We watched this DIG team do really well in the spring split and grab some big time wins. They look to start this split off with the momentum they finished last split with. DIG is a very volatile team and if EG is on their game they could easily take it to DIG. However, I like the growth this DIG team showed last split, and I expect them to be even better this split. I hope we get bad EG today, where they rack up tons of deaths, therefore making DIG one of the highest scoring teams on the slate!
