Slate Thoughts:
This slate is setting up to be an amazing GPP slate! There are so many series that could go either way. With that, I will not be playing much cash games tonight. My top team I will target tonight is BLG. They are -260 favorites vs. TT tonight, with a 17.5 team implied kill total (highest on the slate). BLG lead TT in DRA%, GPM, FB% and GD@15. I would not be shocked if BLG dropped a game in this series, as they are not a top tier team themselves. However, I do expect them to win this series and produce high kill totals along the way. They are the team I have the most confidence in, when it comes to sweeps.
TES/IG should be one heck of a series. Both teams have not played up to their expectations so far this split. TES are the best team in the LPL in regards to early game, they lead the LPL in GD@15 minutes. TES have one of the highest kill averages in wins, and also lead the LPL in kills/gm. IG die a ton in losses, so if TES are able to take care of business here, we could see some very nice scores coming from this team. On the other side of this matchup we have IG, who are so Jekyll and Hyde. They have shown they can dominate teams in the top half of the LPL and also can get swept by teams that are in the lower half of the LPL. It is so hard to trust them on a night by night basis. Their is no denying that they have the talent to be one of the top teams in the LPL, they just need to find more consistency. IG are one of the top teams in the LPL when it comes to Kills/win, so if they are to pull off the upset tonight we are likely to see them atop the leaderboards. Rookie, Xun and TheShy will be my targets from IG, while Jackeylove, Knight and Karsa will be my top plays from TES. I’ve got TES 2-1 here.
DRX are another team I trust to play in cash tonight. They do come in with a fairly low projected kill total, so I would not go out of my way in getting exposure to them in Gpp’s due to their low ceilings. However, they do come with a safe floor. DRX have advantages over BRO in GPM, HER% and GD@15 min. This game will more than likely be a 3 game series, so their is always a chance that BRO pull off the upset, though I do not see that being the case here.
RW/OMG….. this has to be as close to a toilet bowl matchup that you could possibly get. Both teams are AWFUL this split only having one win each. The thing with RW is that they will fight, they will force fights all over the map. Due to their playstyle, if they are able to win this series, they will produce really good scores tonight. OMG statistically should win this series, but I have zero trust in picking OMG. If I am playing anyone from this series, I will be playing RW due to their ability to rack up huge kill totals. I’m going to make this my bold call of the night: I am going to go with a RW sweep here, and they will be the top scoring team on the slate. I will live and die by RW tonight in my tournament’s ….. That’s scary..
