Slate Thoughts:
We are back to a 4 game slate tonight and one that brings us 3 big favorites and one tightly contested match. IG is one of the heaviest favorites on the slate with -800 odds to beat LGD. IG are a team that come with plenty of upside, due to their willingness to fight, and the high kill totals they accumulate in wins. As frustrating as IG can be, and lose matches they have no reason to lose, I expect them to make quick work of LGD today. Wink will be replacing Puff today as IG’s ADC, so make sure you do not have Puff in your lineup. With all of that said, IG do have their spot in the playoffs secured and really cannot change their positioning in it. They are currently the 9 seed, and best they can do is move to the 8 seed. So, this game does not have much meaning to it, which kind of scares me with IG and their unpredictability becoming even more so in this type of series. I still expect IG to win this series 2-0, but would not be surprised if they ended up doing some crazy things here and lose to a very bad LGD team.
In my eyes HLE and LNG are the two teams that matchup the best for cash games tonight, and will be the route I go for my main lineup. Both HLE and LNG come in as big favorites in their matches. If I had to chose one, I would slightly lean LNG due to their probability of accumulating impressive kill totals, and the fact that they need this win to clinch their playoff berth. RW are pathetic, and LNG have advantages over RW in GPM, GD@15, DRA%, Kills/Gm and FB%, giving LNG a great opportunity at clinching that spot in the playoffs. One thing about RW is that they will look to mix things up, and as a result, they tend to die a ton in their matches. Light, Iwandy and Tarzan are my top plays from this LNG team and I expect them to cruise to a 2-0 sweep.
HLE are a team that have been posting kill totals that rival that of LPL teams. We typically don’t associate aggressive game styles and high kill totals with LCK teams, but this HLE team is the exception. HLE average 19 kills in their wins, while DRX average nearly 18 deaths in their losses. Giving us a solid environment for some high kill games by HLE. They have advantages over DRX in DRA%, HER%, GPM, FB% and GD@15min. Deft and Chovy would be the main guys I target from HLE.
I think their are a few different routes you can go in cash games tonight, and that is stacking HLE/LNG or going with IG as your main stack (Slightly more risk) and pairing them with either HLE or LNG. NS look like a solid team to target at lower ownership. If you want to take a chance on a team like LGD, in hopes that IG do something crazy and get obliterated (totally possible), LGD would be leading people to a lot of money in that case. Again, I do not expect IG to lose, but with nothing for IG to really play for, I could see that scenario playing out.
Good luck tonight! Cores for both FD and DK will be posted on the site tonight.
