Slate Thoughts:
This slate sets up to be very straight forward. Looking at all 5 matches I currently believe that all of the favorites will pull out victories. The biggest question on every LEC slate, is that are you going to play G2 or fade them to try and upgrade your captain. As of now, G2 is projected with the highest kill total. Their overall upside is why I will be playing G2 in my main lineup. They should absolutely dominate this matchup vs. MSF. There is always a concern that that small concern that they breeze through their opponent and do not reach their ceiling. I do expect them to dominate however, and even in a quick victory, I expect they will have plenty of damage on the board.
The team I currently have paired with G2 in my main lineup is Rogue. Rogue are just such a solid/smart team, and have near perfect game play fundamentals. They are not a team that are going to take a ton of risk, like MAD Lions do. I expect that they are able to control the map and take advantage of some of those plays by MAD. RGE currently lead the LEC in GD@15, and it’s not even close! They do a good job of building up a huge gold lead, that opposing teams then have a near impossible task of coming back from. I do not believe that they have tons of upside here, so I would target their team spot first off, then turn to Larssen and Inspired as my top two targets from this team. MAD are definitely live in this matchup, and though they do take a ton of risk, they are very good at executing their plays.
S04 are one of my favorite tournament plays today, and will be in my main tournament lineup. S04 were one of the hottest teams in the LEC down the stretch last split, and have opened this split with very good game play. They are 5-2 so far, with a victory vs. G2. Astrailis are the exact opposite of S04. They have looked disorganized and just sloppy overall during this split. S04 are in the top 4 of the LEC in FB%, GD @15min and HER%. Astrailis lead the entire league in deaths/gm, giving S04 a nice bump in upside. I expect this to be a very lopsided victory for S04, and expect them to score fairly decent. I will be targeting Neon, Abbedagge and Gilius in my S04 builds.
