League of Legends (LPL) Breakdown- 4/14/20

What’s up everyone, we had a decent article last time out, looking to continue that tonight. We are now offering CORE PLAYS for FanDuel and DraftKings on our site now, which includes cores from our 3 experts, Me (Tristan), Brian and AB. Get in on the fun! Today only is LPL, so let’s just get right into it and keep it short and sweet.

JDG v RW (JDG-550)

This matchup is really nice for JDG, they’ve been rolling ever since Zoom rejoined them, and man oh man they look nice. Out of the 6 teams that play today, JDG averages the 3rd most kills per game (13.9), and this game has the highest implied kills on the slate through 2 (33.0). RW die the most in losses on this slate at 22.7, and JDG has the fewest deaths in losses on the slate at 15.0. This is a smash spot for JDG, they need to win to make sure they don’t slip out of 4th with EDG and TES trailing them. However, we can’t just ignore the good play RW has had over the last 4 series. Haro has made a huge difference for them in JNG, playing extremely aggressive. They also subbed out Ruby for Wuming who did really well for them vs RNG. However, I just don’t see them beating JDG- Zoom will demolish anyone in the top lane, LokeN and LvMao will be all sorts of trouble for Ley and Zwuji. The real matchup they have to take advantage of is in the mid lane with Yagao. I think they will either have to have Kanavi track Haro or match his aggression, because if Haro gets fed or is given easy kills, this is where RW will start to take over. Overall, I think JDG is perfectly fine and I think they will be able to take advantage across the map.

My Prediction: JDG goes for their 4th sweep in a row, 2-0, good for all formats.

SN vs VG (VG-240)

I think the odds here are sort of too much on VG’s side. I think this’ll be a lot closer than people think- SN has amazing talent, but for some reason they just can’t put it all together. They have struggled immensely, where as VG has won a game in each series in all but 2 series this split. They have found something that works for them. Let’s talk about SN first. Since putting Bin in the lineup, they’ve struggled a bit, only winning one series vs V5. I think their talent is super nice, Huanfeng and Angel are studs, Swordart can hold his own. They have been able to put up points in losses as well. This should be really close but I am going to give it to VG. They’ve beat some really good teams over the past 5 series including FPX and ES, but also lost to OMG and RW… VG only average 14.6 kills per win, lowest on the slate, but SN dies second most on the slate in losses at 21.1. The key here? Controlling the bottom lane. If Aix can make his presence felt and Forge holds his own vs Angel, I don’t think they’ll have a problem controlling the bottom river and showing their 55.5% DRA rate.

My Prediction: VG 2-1, both teams good for GPPs, limiting exposure here.

LGD vs BLG (LGD -135)

I love this game- BLG has shown really great play over the last few series while LGD looks to continue their miracle run at playoffs led by the overall great team play since the addition of Killua to the starting lineup. They are looking for their 4th straight win. Peanut should be a handful for BLG, and the bot lane should be LGD’s to take advantage of. I’ve become a fan of them, I love the way they play outside of Lies (xD) but the rest of this team has really good talent. I think that they will reach their average 22 kills per win tonight, and I expect it to be BLOODY. I think LGD will start the game off by diving and being aggressive, and try to snowball this game. All of LGD have high ceilings, all other than Lies have eclipsed the 100+ ceiling mark in their last 10. If they win this game, expect great scores from Peanut, Yuuki, Kramer and Killua. BLG have some upside as well if they can pull it off, but I just don’t see them winning tonight.

My Prediction: Gonna be bold, going with a LGD 2-0 SWEEP. Use in all formats!
