What’s up everyone, we’re back with a massive slate after 2 days of just LPL. LGD destroyed me single handedly last night, it was very disappointing. I’m looking to bounce back tonight, hopefully in a big way with a huge slate. Let’s get right into it, and again if you guys haven’t signed up yet, check out our core plays!
LCK Matches
GEN G vs KT (GEN -245)
This is pretty cut clear for me. GEN need to win for the first seed. For those that aren’t aware, the first seed for the LCK is by far the most important out of the other leagues. The way the LCK playoff format works, it is gauntlet style, where the last team (5th) plays 4th in the first round, winner of that plays 3rd, etc. GEN G have to win tonight to maintain their positioning, and I think they are a pretty safe team tonight. They have the highest average kills per game out of all LCK teams tonight, at 12.5, and the fewest deaths per game at 7.6. I personally don’t see them messing around here, they will again focus on the macro game and use their 59% DRA to control the objectives and keep KT at bay. This should be a clean game to me, I don’t see it being overly bloody, they are projected for 23 kills through 2 which is third in the LCK tonight. KT is a very good team as well in the macro game and they are on the rise. I see them being able to possibly take a game from GEN G tonight. They are close with Gen G on the DRA at 58%. Whoever secures the drake will have a good chance to control vision across the rift the way these teams play.
My Prediction: GEN G 2-1, Decent cash team with limited upside. I like to use them at the team spot the most. Very good objective team.
AF vs T1 (T1 -575)
This is another pretty clean cut game for me, however I like this game a bit more than the GEN G game. T1, tied with GEN G does need to win here, and sweep. AF have struggled a bit and I think T1 takes full control here and they have the advantage in the macro game and in their lanes. The main guys I would focus on here are Faker/Teddy. Just gonna keep it simple here- T1 have higher upside but less pieces I like. For example, if using Gen G, I like their team minus the support. However for T1, I like their Mid/ADC the most. T1 have 7% more DRA rate than AF, and I think across the board they will just be able to handle business.
My prediction: T1, 2-0. Good team for any format. Prioritize Faker/Teddy.
DWG vs SB (DWG -315)
Another good game, DWG can move up with 2 series wins but have a slim chance at moving down (AF beats T1). They should still handle business today, SB is trying to get out of that 9th seed spot so they don’t have to undergo the elimination process the LCK does to make sure they have competitive teams in the league every split. This is probably my favorite LCK team tonight in terms of fantasy, but comes with risk. DWG like to fight, they average the highest kills per win (15.6) for the LCK teams tonight. But with them not really having to do much to secure a playoffs spot, the only incentive is hoping KT lose tonight, and they can go and beat SB. This would leave a KT/DWG matchup on Sunday deciding the 4th seed. A lot needs to fall in place here, I think DWG will end up taking this, SB have the worst DRA on the slate in terms of LCK teams at 46%, compared to DWG 52%.
My Prediction: DWG 2-1, good GPP team here. I wouldn’t play them in cash necessarily.
LPL Matches
EDG vs OMG (EDG – 300)
Finally I can talk about LPL! This is one fun matchup to watch, EDG need to win tonight to keep the teams behind them in the rear mirror. EDG have a well rounded team with their two original starters back in the lineup and although they lost last series vs FPX, I think they played well and just simply aren’t at FPX’s level yet. They should be able to run over OMG tonight, OMG just have a measly 43.5% DRA compared to EDG’s 51%. On top of that, EDG’s bot lane is far more superior with the Hope/Meiko combo. This is one nice matchup for EDG because OMG haven’t been able to compete with these upper level teams, and I classify EDG as one of these teams. They aren’t good enough to beat FPX/IG yet, but I think they could put up a fight against TES/ES. They are implied for 29 kills through 2 tonight.
My Prediction: EDG 2-0, use in all formats.
DMO vs RNG (RNG -425)
This one is a tough one. I personally don’t agree with the -425 odds. It should be more -245 or something along those lines. RNG has really struggled as of late, and I went back and watched some of these games in which they did struggle, and what stood out to me mainly was the fact that their bans weren’t focused on the opposing team’s jungle comfort picks. This is where they have struggled a bit. I think tonight they will have to make sure XLB is on a comfort pick and Xiaopeng doesn’t get a comfort pick, even if that means giving Gala a better ADC champ. I’m still going to give it to RNG here with the better stats across the board and motivation to win here, as there are a couple teams in the rear view mirror. They have 31.0 implied kills through 2 tonight, and I think this could definitely get bloody with the aggression DMO have been showing recently under their new coach.
My Prediction: RNG 2-1, good GPPs, I don’t mind in cash but other teams are “safer”
IG vs WE (IG -400)
IG is a solid team that I think has had one of the easier schedules this split. IG have loved fighting, they average 17 kills a game and 20.2 in wins. They are implied for 35 kills through 2 tonight. They love team fights and dives. I think this is a perfect matchup because WE also love to fight, they die 20 times per loss. This game, hopefully will the bloodiest of the 3 LPL games tonight. I don’t mind running a game stack here, I don’t mind running WE here either. This game could turn into a bloodbath, WE have some talent but I don’t think they’ll be able to keep up with Rookie, Puff and Southwind. IG have played well vs aggression because of their team communications. They struggle a bit vs macro teams, but overall I think IG is far more superior here. They will capitalize on the small mistakes in a big way.
My Prediction: IG 2-0 (either team good for Gpps, IG is priority team in all formats for me.)
