Hello and welcome to Day 1 of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020. If you’ve been along for the ride, you’ll recognize most of these teams from Flashpoint or ESL. DraftKings and FanDuel have kept on rolling their normal esports schedule with DraftKings starting early in the morning with all 3 games and FanDuel skipping the early game. Three obvious favorites start out this tournament, but hopefully we can dodge the unnecessary chalk.
Astralis(-770) v Heroic(+535)
Astralis reclaimed their number 1 world ranking after defeating G2 (rather easily) on Sunday in the ESL grand final. They are playing another team from their country thats not even close to their weight class. I was interested to see TeSeS compete for Heroic in a major tournament, but I don’t think this is the spot for him. Also: Heroics niko is not our NiKo from FaZe Clan so don’t that confused. I look for a quick 2-0 for Astralis. This matchup is not featured on FanDuel, so you will only find these players on DraftKings.
Players To Watch: All of Astralis and maybe TeSeS/niko from Heroic.
G2(-310) v North(+245)
I have to take a second to laugh at FanDuel that refused to put Jumpy on their available players for the past week while he filled in for Kjaerbye. BUT new tournament, new sub. FanDuel has added Jumpy and left Kjaerbye available, but haven’t done their homework to add Kristou. Last week, North pulled off the 2-1 upset over G2 with Jumpy. While I don’t expect another North win, this could be a competitive series. If you’re betting, check on odds for correct score G2 2-1 or North +1.5.
Players To Watch: nexa, huNter, aizy, MSL
Team Liquid(-605) v Chaos(+435)
Team Liquid is kind of on my personal shit list. They were sort of throwing and not taking their last tournament seriously. This is day 1 of DreamHack and we will have to wait and see until 3pm which Team Liquid shows up. Chaos did a little revamping of their roster and Xeppaa has decent stats. I’m interested to see how he plays but for DFS purposes, I’ll be steering clear of most Chaos players.
Players To Watch: EliGE, NAF, Twistzz, Xeppaa
