WNBA DFS Slate Breakdown 6/01

Dream vs Mystic

The Dream are coming off of a loss last night in the 1st leg of a back to back. I would be hesitant on back to back but in this case no player on the Dream played high minutes due to the blowout. Tonight, they face another tough team in the Washington Mystic, who might have the services of Elena Delle Donne making her season debut. In the 2 games the Dream have played we still haven’t seen Tiffany Hayes break out and be the PPM player she is, but she makes for a good target tonight as she only played 19 minutes last night. Brittney Sykes has been the most productive player for the Dream so far and is returning value in her high minutes she is playing.  Both Elizabeth Williams and Jessica Breland have yet to have a big game and I don’t plan to look that direction as neither of them have had great games vs this Mystic squad. Only other players I’ll be looking at from the Dream will be Renee Montgomery (who always seems to be low owned), Alex Bentley (playing low 20 min game) is always a spark plug off the bench and can catch fire at a moment’s notice and Nia Coffey who seems to come in and produce with limited minutes.

Washington should be thrilled to get EDD back but until we hear word of minutes and if she will be starting tonight. If she is not getting full minutes, I don’t see any reason she should be in play except as a crazy GPP option. Emma Meesseman showed up big in EDD absents and tonight still makes for decent play tonight as I don’t see her getting less 20 minutes and that should be more than enough for her to hit value. If Kristi Toliver (currently listed as probable) is out I will have some interest in Shatori Walker-Kimbrough who played 26 min in the season opener and delivered a 28-fantasy point outing. Last piece I’ll be looking at will be Natasha cloud who would be called upon to lead the Mystic as well if both EDD and Toliver miss.

Liberty vs Fever

A rematch of the season opener for these two teams where the Fever won on a buzzer beating shot. New York was led by Tina Charles who put on a dominating performance with 32pt, 12reb, 2ast, and a steal. I expect another massive night for Tina as she has the abilities to dominate this team once again. Outside of Tina only Kia Nurse and Amanda Zahui B saw similar minutes in the high 20s. Zahui B makes for a interesting play since last time out she played 28 minutes but was held scoreless. This is a great bounce back spot for her if her shot is falling at a low price making her a good value play especially on FD.

The guard’s situation for the Liberty is to spread out with so many guards in the mix. Boyd seemed to get played off the floor playing only 15 minutes, and Nurse had a pretty bad shooting night playing 30. I will be staying clear away from these guards and maybe taking a shot at Asia Durr as a GPP play.

Tonight, is the home opener for the Fever and they will be looking to bounce back after their loss to the Sun. It looks like Candice Dupree will continue to be the leader for the Fever as her minutes seem safe in the mid-30s. Kelsey Mitchell playing point guard seems to be a bust to start the season as she is seeing a reduced roll with Erica Wheeler playing the point instead. Wheeler has been flourishing in this roll and is a great price on DraftKings if you want exposer to this game outside of Dupree. Tiffany Mitchell may see some extra minutes tonight with Shenise Johnson listed out with a knee injury. Another player who should benefit in Johnson absence would be Betnijah Laney. Laney has been a consistent producer off the bench playing right around 20-25 minutes and returning a fantasy point per minute.

Lynx vs Wings

The Lynx head to Dallas to take on the Wings. We have yet to have the big Sylvia Fowles game we have all been looking for as she has been getting doubled and tripled team making it hard for her to produce. Instead we have seen rookie Napheesa Collier, Odyssey Sims, Lexie Brown, and Danielle Robinson step up and have great games. Last game the Wings played they got dominated inside by the Dream bigs making Fowles and Collier interesting plays. Damiris Dantas makes for another good play as she seems to be fitting into this Lynx team playing mid-20s in minutes and producing in the time she is given with 23 and 27 fantasy point games.

The Wings are still a team we must figure out as we had random starts from Hill and Davis over Thorton and Gray. Allisha gray was the leader last game for the Wings with 35-fantasy points in 25 minutes off the bench. Tonight, we get Azura Stevens back as she missed the opener with a concussion but has been cleared to play. Stevens has been dealing with a foot issue so it will still be proceeded with caution. Glory Johnson and Arkie Ogunbowale are 2 other plays I don’t mind from the Wings in this tough matchup tonight.

Strom vs Sky

The Strom are on the back end of a back to back and on their 4th game of the season. We now have an idea about how the team rotations are running and how the offense flows without Bird and Stewart. Loyd and Howard have been the leaders for the team with Howard leading the way filling the stat sheets. Howard is taking double digit field goal attempts to go along with her amazing ability to rebound. Howard should dominate tonight match up with really no one to stop her on the Sky. Loyd is close to having that break out game as it seemed like she was close to it last night had the game not been a blow-out. As soon as her shot is falling to go along with everything she does rebounding and assist wise she will have that game.

Alysha Clark is set top miss tonight for rest purpose opening minutes for Langhorne and Mercedes Russell to continue to dominate. Russell was a bright spot last night coming off the bench dropping 25 fantasy points in 20 minutes. If she gets this kind of run again tonight vs a weak defensive team in the Sky she makes for a great value play.

The Sky are a interesting team filled with a lot of talent. Due to a blow out in their match up with the Lynx we everyone got about even minutes making it difficult for us to pinpoint rotations. With that said the Sky tend to go as their guards go with leader Courtney Vandersloot, Allie Quigley and Diamond DeShields. DeSheild disappointed everyone in the season opener only playing 11 minutes mostly due to foul trouble. Tonight, is a bounce back spot if she can avoid the fouls and step up for the Sky. Gabby Williams is the last Sky I have some interest in as she saw 25 minutes and produced in that time with 20-fanstay points.

Good Luck everyone and lets crush again tonight! See you at the top!
