Day one of WNBA is in the books and now we look onto day two. To recap yesterday we had the one game you would have thought to be a blowout, be competitive and the other two, well lets just not talk about the other two because they were very disappointing to say the least. If you are familiar with this sport then you know WNBA is very up and down and can be frustrating at times, but enough with that lets look at today’s 3 game slate that has revenge games and good rookie match ups!
Guards:
Chennedy Carter – FD 5000
If you followed Carter College career then you know she is a scorer who can light it up from behind the arc and can work her way to the rim and finish with the best of them. In college she averaged over 20 points in all three seasons while at Texas A&M and will be a much needed force the Dream will be needed this season after trading away a few players along with letting some go in free agency. The Dream match up today is a good one I feel for Carter as she will be going against another rebuilding team in the Dallas Wings who at times last season you could attack them at the guard position. Also Carter and Arike had a really good game against each other in college and I can see this game being fireworks again. I expect this game to be high scoring and Carter to start making her case for Rookie of the year.
Moriah Jefferson – DK 5500
After missing the 2019 season Jefferson is back and ready to play for a new team this season. Dallas has a lot of things but guards are not one of them especially point guards. Now if you think Arike is the point guard just know she only had to fill that spot last year but she is more of a two guard than anything and with Jeffereson coming in I would expect Arike to slide back over to the two. Jefferson averaged close to 5 assist a game and over 10 points in her 2018 season and should look to pick back up where she left off at here in Dallas.
Forwards:
Angel McCoughtry – DK 5000
Once again it looks like one of the DFS sites has fallen asleep on a player. Angel McCoughtry is no scrub or a rookie. Before she was injured and missed last season she was a key player for the Atlanta Dream in their 2018 season. In 29 games she averaged over 15 points a game along with a few assists and 5 rebounds. McCoughtry will be coming into a short handed Aces team who just recently cut Alex Bently and will be missing Kelsey Plum as well. McCoughtry is listed as a Forward but she is more of a guard and can take over a game at any moment. For her price on DK I like her for a cheap building block option with a high ceiling.
Azura Stevens – FD 3800
All of last season we waited and waited for Stevens to play and have her breakout sophomore season but she was hampered by a foot issue and finally was shut down after a few games. Now she has been traded to one of my favorite teams in the league the Chicago Sky where I believe she will have a chance to show off her talent and make an immediate impact as a starter or off the bench. For 3800 on Fanduel she will not need much to pay off such a low price tag. As long as she is healthy and gets run when Dolson gets into foul trouble she is an easy play on the day.
