WNBA DFS 5/25 – Zo’s DraftKings Plays

Guards

O. Sims (Stud)- This off-season we got news of some players who would be retiring this season and some who would be stepping away for personal reasons. One of those teams that that affected the most would be the Minnesota Lynx who got word that Superstar forward Maya Moore would not be returning this season and Lindsay Whalen retiring. With Maya and the need for a point guard to replace Whalen the Lynx seem to have plugged that hole with Odyssey Sims. In the preseason Sims has looked impressive scoring at least 20 points, 4 assist and 4 rebounds. Although she is coming off the bench, she has played over 25 min in both games and I would not be surprised if she got more run to match up with Allie Quigley to try and slow her down.

Other Stud Plays: D. DeShields, D Bonner, C. Vandersloot

J. Canada (value)- Priced at just 3800 and expected to be a starting guard for the injured she just SCREAMS value. The match up with Phoenix is a rematch of last years finals between these two teams. Throughout the preseason Canada has started both games and put up some decent numbers with at least 13 points, 5 assist and 2 steals a game. With Superstar B. Stewart expected to miss this season with a torn achilleas there are plenty of shots and more usage to go around for Storm and Canada makes a great buy low high upside play.

Other Value Plays: D. Robinson, A. Atkins

C. Williams (GPP)- The Connecticut Sun are a very stacked team with talent up and down the roaster. The guard play is dominated by Jasmine Thomas and Courtney Williams who can both go off for career games at any point in time. Last season in the three match-up with the Mystic Williams had a mixing pot of results with a high of 47 fantasy points to a low of 19. Throughout the preseason Williams didn’t have many eye-popping numbers outside of the fact that she led the team in assist over her backcourt counterpart. With everyone flocking to both Thomas and Jonquel Jones, Williams could be a low owned stud that helps you take down a GPP.

Other GPP Plays: A. Quigley, J. Loyd

Forwards

J. Jones (Stud)- We all know if Fowles or Griner are on a slate we should consider rostering them, so I won’t beat a dead horse here, instead let’s look at Jonquel Jones one of the WNBA fantasy ppm monsters. Jones gets the chance this season to show everyone again what she is capable of now that the Sun have shipped Chiney Ogwumike to the Sparks. Jones was a double double machine in the 2017 season where she started due to Chiney being injured, now back in that role throughout the preseason she has picked right back up where she left off at. Jones also has been very aggressive from 3-point land in the preseason taking a team high 18 3’s and making just over 50% of them. With Jones ability to stretch the floor and a match up with the Mystic without Superstar EDD, Jones is a walking double double tonight just waiting to happen.

Other Stud Plays: S. Fowles, B. Griner, G. Williams

E. Meesseman (Value)- After taking last season off to play overseas with her national team Meesseman is back with the Mystic and ready for the 2019 season. Meesseman is expected to be the starting center tonight and in her lone start this preseason against the Lynx she put up some impressive numbers with a team high 19 points to go along with 3 blocked shots, a steal and 6 rebounds. Before taking off the 2018 season she averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assist in 28 minutes. Priced at just 4,400 on DraftKings she makes for an excellent salary saver for you to pay up for some other studs at the position.

Other Value Plays: B. Jones, D. Dantas
