Thoughts:
Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.
- Today we have a small 3 game slate that presents 3 nice fast paced games. This is always good for small slates because it presents many different ways we can go about approaching the slate. To begin with, we have to watch out for Anthony Davis news. If Davis is out it means that all Lakers will be bumped into cash considerations. This slate will be more of a tourney only slate due to the size of the slate- however if you do choose to play cash games, I’ll get into my core below.
- If we are starting roster construction on both sites, I would start with Luka Doncic. Luka is still putting up crazy numbers this far into the season and he won’t stop even with the Unicorn back. I love Luka tonight vs POR who has struggled to defend at any position. Another Mavs player I love tonight that should correlate with Luka’s assist numbers is Maxi Kleber. Kleber should either start at PF/C or play a ton of minutes at PF/C with Powell out for the year. Kleber has a nice role in the offense and has seen 30+ minutes on a ton of occasions this year. If Kleber is rolling from 3 expect a ton of the looks to be from Luka’s playmaking.
- The second player I’ll be building around is Damian Lillard. I know, two point guards, but they truly will be in majority of my lineups tonight. I love the both of them head to head and I think that they’ll be a nice combo for 50+ fdp each. If CJ McCollum ends up suiting up I’ll start to lessen my shares of Lillard, and likely go to Sexton, but if McCollum sits Lillard is going to be in all of my lineups.
- Some value plays I like tonight are Trevor Ariza, who will be starting on his new team, Davis Bertans, and Boban (DK). In addition, look for Jarrett Allen to play as many minutes as he can tonight being the only center on the team.
- I really love this WAS/CLE game where we have a ton of underpriced players, I would start with Beal, and pair him with Bertans for WAS while going Sexton/TT/Love for CLE. This would likely be my game stack for the night.
- Now, for tournaments, this is where I believe we can get a little more “different”. I would use the other plays listed below to differentiate yourself from the field.
- Below are the players I would consider in your “pool” tonight when building 3-20 lineups. This is 100% the approach everyone reading this article should be taking tonight. There are plenty of 3-max, 5-max, 20-max contests to enter
- The players I’m using in my “pool” tonight (outside of locking Luka, Dame, one of my value plays listed above)
-
-
- LeBron James
- Collin Sexton
- Jarrett Allen
- Tristan Thompson
- Kevin Love
- Bradley Beal
- Carmelo Anthony
- Hassan Whiteside
- Boban Marjanovic
- Trevor Ariza
- Anfernee Simons
- Cedi Osman
- Tim Hardaway Jr.
- Larry Nance Jr.
- We’re still waiting on a few pieces of information, so keep your eyes peeled.
- Remember to try to add as much correlation to your lineups as possible. More games go to OT than you think in the NBA and mini-game stacks are an underutilized strategy in NBA DFS tournaments. (Again, you can use the table above to identify the game-stacks I’ll be on).
