Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Amazing slate today with 9 games and a wide variety of options. Although it is very news dependent we should be given a ton of good value options with and without injury news. We want to know if Towns and Wiggins are playing as Minnesota is the most crucial value spot on the slate. If they both sit out again, guys like Napier, Culver, Dieng and Okogie/Martin will all be bumped into value, but if they are in, I would only consider rostering Napier due to Teague’s absence.
  • If we are starting roster construction on both sites, I would start with Aaron Holiday. He’s going to be starting and Brogdon/Sumner have already been ruled doubtful. Holiday will play in close games and in blowouts, and he averages a 1 FPPM when starting. I’m not in love with his spot vs the Nuggets but he is amazing value. Secondly, I would probably pair Holiday with one of my PF locks, in Kleber/Chriss. Both these PFs will be in great spots with Porzingis and Cauley-Stein out, and both started the previous game in their absences. I expect the same amount of run for both players tonight. Lock and load!
  • With the value I gave you above, it’s now time to jam in Luka Doncic. He is very pricey on DraftKings at 12k but very affordable on FanDuel where he is 10.8k. He will likely be in all my lineups unless Wiggins/Towns are ruled out, then Napier will start to find his way into my lineups.
  • Now, for tournaments, this is where I believe we can get a little more “different”. I would use the other plays listed below to differentiate yourself from the field.
  • Overall, with all the value, I will be playing Luka and jamming in ALL the value plays tonight!
  • Below are the players I would consider in your “pool” tonight when building 3-20 lineups.  This is 100% the approach everyone reading this article should be taking tonight.  There are plenty of 3-max, 5-max, 20-max contests to enter
  • The players I’m using in my “pool” tonight (outside of locking Luka, Holiday and one of my PFs)
      • Alec Burks
      • Dwight Powell
      • Andre Drummond
      • Fred Vanvleet
      • Lou Williams
      • Glenn Robinson III
      • Kyle Lowry
      • Buddy Hield
      • De’Aaron Fox
      • Paul George
      • Damion Lee
      • Gorgui Dieng (if Towns out)
      • Culver/Napier (if Wiggins out)
      • Robert Covington (if Towns/Wiggins out)
    • We’re still waiting on a few pieces of information, so keep your eyes peeled.
    • Remember to try to add as much correlation to your lineups as possible.  More games go to OT than you think in the NBA and mini-game stacks are an underutilized strategy in NBA DFS tournaments.  (Again, you can use the table above to identify the game-stacks I’ll be on).
    • BKN/DAL could be the game stack tonight with Dallas very shorthanded missing KP, and THJ. BKN might also be without Garrett Temple tonight, so a SF such as Tauraen Prince could be thrown into the cash mix. This game should be close and exciting.
