Hello everybody, and welcome back to another DFS Karma Game Theory article by yours truly! Today there are a couple things to monitor regarding injuries and COVID-19 protocols, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. For injury news, please make sure to check our injury article. Go peep my NBA DFS First Impression Video and see my thoughts on the slate as an introduction to the slate! After that, come back to this article to make sense of the news and look at couple of ways to start building for this slate. This is a nicely sized slate with a good bit of injury news, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled throughout the day for updated news.
On FanDuel, I would start by locking in Devonte Graham who will see a huge bump in not only usage but minutes, and will probably be inserted in the starting line-up barring some miraculous skill spurt in either Malik Monk or one of the Martin twins… but there’s no way that’s happening. With LaMelo Ball being out now for the season, his 24.6% usage rate will definitely have to be spread out across the team not only giving bumps to Devonte Graham, but Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward as well. On DraftKings, Devonte Graham is also in a smash spot at only 4.8k as well.
Now let’s talk about this IND/MIL game. Giannis Antetokoumpo will be out and this is a huge implication on not only the Bucks entire team and their usage bump, but how much worse their defense gets. Without Giannis Antetokoumpo on the floor, the Bucks have a 119.5 DRtg, absolutely horrible. I love not only playing the Bucks side in Jrue Holiday, Donte Divencenzo, and Khris Middleton, but also playing a few people from the Pacers side to attack the Bucks and their horrendous defense. Players I’m looking at include Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert, and Malcolm Brogdon. The Bucks did also just acquire P.J. Tucker, who should definitely help their defensive woes with him specializing in defense.
Lastly, I want to bring up the OKC situation involving the resting of Al Horford, the injury causing Lu Dort to sit, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander listed as available to play today. OKC is in a great spot today playing a Minnesota team that is currently last in the league in the West for overall standings. They have definitely gotten better though, seeing that they recently defeated the Phoenix Suns (though they lost to them after their rematch two nights after their win)…but they are still the lowest seed in the West, under the Rockets who have lost 20 straight. With the news of Al Horford resting and Lu Dort being out, I am targeting value on the OKC side — mainly Moses Brown, Isaiah Roby, and one of either Theo Maledon, Ty Jerome, or Svi Mykhailiuk.
There are many ways to go for this slate with still news awaiting for us, so make sure to monitor throughout the day to make sure you don’t miss out on anything important! Below is a list of my player pool as of now:
