- Hello everybody and welcome back to another DFS Karma Game Theory article! Today there are a couple things to monitor regarding injuries and COVID-19 protocols, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. For injury news, please make sure to check our injury article here! This is a massive 11 game slate filled with a ton of great competitive games. There’s a lot to digest here but I’m just going to try to keep it as simple as possible. The biggest news of the day is that Kevin Durant will sit tonight as they manage his achilles injury. Let’s get right into what that means for us today.
- The CLE v BKN rematch will be a fun one to watch. Collin Sexton went crazy and single handedly beat the Nets in the double overtime game on Wednesday. Now the Nets will be without star Kevin Durant tonight. That gives a big boost to Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Joe Harris and Jeff Green. It was a small sample size, ONLY one game, but Kyrie Irving saw the highest usage of all three players and when he was on the floor with just James Harden, he saw a 27% usage rate. I love both Kyrie and Harden today, I think you have to consider playing them both in the same lineup. Jeff Green and Joe Harris are also very enticing, both have played big minutes lately and are pretty consistent even with little usage. On the CLE side, I will probably avoid Drummond until further notice, as Jarrett Allen will steal a lot of that run and I could see Drummond being traded in the near future. Anyhow, Sexton, Cedi Osman and Jarrett Allen are all great tournament plays.
- The other game I love for all formats is the HOU v DET game. I love Oladipo, Cousins and Gordon here in ALL formats. I think that you have to play Cousins in cash at that price on FD especially. Capela just had a career game vs this poor interior defense of Detroit. I love Oladipo today, I think his usage will just skyrocket without Wood, who is out with an ankle injury. His price is a little steep but this is point guard Oladipo with high usage. Eric Gordon is another LOCK for me today at that price and floor. On the DET side, I like Jerami Grant and probably only him, I don’t mind Blake Griffin but I think there are a ton of better PF plays today.
- There are a ton of plays that come from this ATL v MIN game, and this could be the game worthy of a FULL game stack, even on a 11 game slate. I’m not saying you should do it, but this game offers the highest upside of all games today. Trae Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Clint Capela are all in play here, I like Trae a lot, especially if Reddish and Hunter sit. That is big for Huerter and Collins as well. Collins is still too cheap on FD but you have Roby/Jeff Green at cheaper price points as well. On the Minnesota side, you still have Rubio, Towns and Hernangomez out, which opens up the usage for D’Angelo Russell, Naz Reid, and a sneaky Jaden McDaniels who saw a good amount of run last game.
- My core for cash games will be Kyrie Irving, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Gordon
- For tournaments, I like the core of James Harden, DeMarcus Cousins, Isaiah Roby
- Notes:
- Roby/Jeff Green are underpriced on FD by a little… good value
- Kyrie/Trae/Fox… that’s gonna be tough to decide
- Collins/Porzingis/Aaron Gordon/Sabonis I all love… but with PF value do we need them?
- Can you fade DeMarcus Cousins today? I don’t think so.. not in cash at least
