Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Solid 7 game slate tonight with spread out plays across the board. There is a good amount of high mid range players that I like tonight, and I expect myself to have a balanced lineup. First off, the slate depends on 5 key pieces of information- Anthony Davis’s status, Aaron Gordon’s status, KAT’s status, Derrick Favors’s status, and lastly Malcolm Brogdon’s status. By far the most important is Anthony Davis- because LeBron would be locked in all formats if AD chooses to sit.
  • If we are starting roster construction on both sites, I would start with Chris Paul. CP3 has had a great season and an unexpected season to say the least- no one thought OKC would be meshing like they are right now, and CP3 is the leader of that squad. He’s fairly priced in a great matchup with the Wolves who have been struggling on offense and defense without their catalyst Towns. I expect Paul to easily be on his way to 5x value tonight.
  • The second player I’ll be building around is Enes Kanter. This is a tough choice for me on FanDuel because I love Drummond tonight. On DraftKings I’ll be rolling both for sure. Drummond was just childish and got ejected vs the Bulls and completely tanked my lineup. The pair of Kanter (who is without Theis, should pick up the start and get an extra 6-8 minutes) and Drummond (who is vs the Pelicans) will find their way into my DraftKings lineups tonight for sure.
  • Another solid core piece I like to add is Buddy Hield/Evan Fournier. Both players are extremely cheap and are playing against each other tonight. Buddy has been on and off as of late but tonight he should get back on track and that price makes it a ton safer to trust. Fournier on the other hand will have the upper hand if Aaron Gordon sits out. In that case I would prioritize Fournier over Hield.
  • On both sites, I’ll be looking to PF to spend up. I love Tatum, I think he’ll find his way into my lineups tonight, and I’ll sprinkle in Horford, hoping that the 76ers can keep up with the Pacers as they just got blown out a week ago, without Embiid.
  • Now, for tournaments, this is where I believe we can get a little more “different”. I would use the other plays listed below to differentiate yourself from the field.
  • Below are the players I would consider in your “pool” tonight when building 3-20 lineups.  This is 100% the approach everyone reading this article should be taking tonight.  There are plenty of 3-max, 5-max, 20-max contests to enter
  • The players I’m using in my “pool” tonight (outside of locking Paul, Kanter/Drummond (on DK) and one of Hield/Fournier)
      • LeBron James
      • Ben Simmons
      • Zach Lavine
      • Shai-GA
      • Tobias Harris
      • Al Horford
      • Danilo Gallinari
      • Hassan Whiteside
      • Damian Lillard
      • Lonzo Ball
      • Brandon Ingram
      • Kemba Walker
      • Derrick Rose
      • Nikola Vucevic
      • Steven Adams
    • We’re still waiting on a few pieces of information, so keep your eyes peeled.
    • Remember to try to add as much correlation to your lineups as possible.  More games go to OT than you think in the NBA and mini-game stacks are an underutilized strategy in NBA DFS tournaments.  (Again, you can use the table above to identify the game-stacks I’ll be on).
    • OKC/MIN could be the game stack if the game stays close- I love CP, Shai, Adams/Gallinari and for MIN I like Dieng, RoCo, and Wiggins.
