Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Hello everybody and welcome back to another DFS Karma Game Theory article! Today there are a few things to monitor regarding injuries and COVID-19 protocols, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. For injury news, please make sure to check our injury article here! I woke up today praying that NBA wouldn’t be suspended or postponed again and so far so good. The new protocols sound silly but whatever keeps the season going, I understand. One thing to note is the DK slate starts at 7PM EST which includes the PHI v MIA game where both teams have huge impact players dealing with health protocols, but FD starts at 7:30PM EST, leaving this game off the slate. Because it’s on the DK slate, we will include that game for this article and have some insight as well!
  • Let’s first discuss news. We are waiting on news for quite a bit of players. We have already gotten news on Collin Sexton, thankfully, as he burned me last night for sitting out after getting announced IN ARENA in the starting line-up. He will be on the out list today, which includes Kyrie Irving, Demar Derozan, Darius Garland. We have a Q tag on Andre Drummond, Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, and John Wall
  • Let’s talk PHI v MIA. Ben Simmons is probable along with Joel Embiid, which are the two studs in this game. The other studs on the Miami side are all out, including Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Goran Dragic, while Philly is missing Tobias Harris along with their key players in Shake Milton and Seth Curry. Here I would try and find the best value and plug him in, one that will soak up all the minutes on the Heat side… cough Tyler Herro cough. He’s a little pricey at 6.7k since DK priced him up, but I see no reason why he shouldn’t have 20+ shots today and the ball in his hand almost every possession.
  • We can discuss the injury news for the Lakers. Wes Matthews is already ruled out while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is probable and Anthony Davis and Lebron James are questionable. To me, the only person who would sit out is Anthony Davis. I think Lebron plans on playing almost all games he could this season, and the questionable tag is a formality that will be on every injury report until he is 100% healed. I expect Lebron to play every day he is Q until other news tells me otherwise. I do think Davis plays here too. On the other side we have John Wall and Eric Gordon questionable. If both were to get ruled out, I love Christian Wood and James Harden as both strong plays because they will have to fully shoulder this offense. Another injury we must be weary of is Victor Oladipo. The Indiana Pacers are already shorthanded without T.J. Warren and if Oladipo were to sit, I believe Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis to be very strong plays. The ball will most likely be in their hands and they will have to shoulder the load of scoring and playmaking. I also like Justin Holiday > Aaron Holiday if Oladipo were to be out. Doug McDermott can also be a sneaky play as well.
  • My favorite game to stack today would be the IND v GS game or the DEN v BKN game. There are multiple pieces I am targeting from each side, mainly due to injuries/COVID. Wherever I’m at, I will first lock in Kevin Durant into my build.
  • My core for cash games will be Kevin Durant, Malcolm Brogdon, and Tyler Herro.
  • For tournaments, I like the core of Cedi Osman, Lonnie Walker, and Damyean Dotson.
  • Notes:
    • Trey Lyles played 35 min without DeRozan last game and this match-up with a long PF in Darius Bazley looks like he will have to play that same role. Value?
    • JaMychal Green > Paul Millsap?
    • Bounce back Steph Curry spot?
    • Can LaMarcus Aldridge produce two games in a row? He does have the absent DeRozan bump..
    • Tyrese Maxey will probably be high owned again today, but Ben Simmons comes back. I think he makes out to be a great GPP play, but not a must in cash.
  • Now, I will go over my full player pool for today, below.
  • Guys who I will have exposure to today in no particular order [other than those in table above] (PLAYER POOL)

  • Dejounte Murray
  • Jamal Murray
  • Damyean Dotson
  • Lonnie Walker
  • THT (if one of AD or LBJ sits)
  • Keldon Johnson
  • Joe Harris
  • Christian Wood
  • Larry Nance (if Drum ruled out I like this more)
  • Darius Bazley
  • JaMychal Green
  • McGee (if Drum sits, this should be lit)
  • Al Horford
