Josh Richardson
Richardson found success with the Philadelphia 76ers last season. He averaged 13.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists (25.4 fantasy points) in 31.1 minutes per game over 59 contests. Richardson was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in the offseason, posting 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 36 minutes in his first game. He also struggled from beyond the arc, leaving fantasy points on the court.
Richardson gets a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. They ranked 11th in the NBA in pace and third in defensive efficiency last season. Richardson looked elite in the preseason for Dallas, averaging 15.0 points in 24.3 minutes per game, while shooting 73.3% from beyond the arc. Although that’s unsustainable, he’ll find plenty of open shots this season with defenses keying in on Luka Doncic. Richardson also boasts the potential to contribute in each of the five categories on any given night. He’s expected to find minutes in the mid- to high-30s against Los Angeles, making him an outstanding tournament option on this slate.
