NBA DFS – Bales’ Top GPP Plays (8/31/20)

Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP plays. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP plays for today’s games. There are only a pair of games on this slate, limiting the number of plays in this article. The Karma staff will be discussing options in our Discord while posting cores tonight, as well. This help can be found in our NBA Premium Package

Jae Crowder

Crowder played well in the opening series against the Indiana Pacers. He averaged 9.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steal (23 fantasy points) in 25.8 minutes per game. Crowder flashed consistency, scoring 22+ fantasy points in each of his last 3 games. He also posted a pair of games with 27.5 fantasy points. Overall, his upside is significantly higher than we saw in the Indiana series and he may flash in this particular matchup.

Crowder will face off against the Milwaukee Bucks, who play at an extremely fast pace but also boast an elite defense. He only played them twice this season, averaging 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists (27.8 fantasy points) in 27.4 minutes per game. Milwaukee doesn’t guard the three-point line, allowing Crowder plenty of three-point attempts. He’s shooting 44.5% from beyond the arc since joining Miami, and his upside from deep was apparent in their first two matchups. Crowder is expected to continue to play minutes in the mid- to high-20s, which will help keep his ownership down. If he continues to shoot lights out from deep, though, he comes with tremendous upside for a low price tag.

SuperDraft

Brook Lopez (1.6x)

Lopez saw mixed results in the opening round of the playoffs. He ended the series averaging 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 30.4 minutes per game. He didn’t flash much upside in those contests, but he was consistent after the first game. In his last 4 games, he averaged a 15.5/4.5/0.5/1.3/1.3 line, flashing significantly more scoring upside.

Lopez gets a tough matchup against the Miami Heat, who will look to slow the pace down in this game. They also feature a great defender in Bam Adebayo, although I’m not sure he will follow Lopez out of the paint very often. Lopez is averaging 16.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 31.3 minutes per game against Miami this season. He’s be locked into 30+ minutes once again tonight, and he’s a solid 1.6x multiplier on SuperDraft. He certainly comes with risk but he comes with plenty of upside, as well.
