Aleksej Pokusevski
Pokusevski’s seen mixed results in his rookie season for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’s averaging 6.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 block, (18.3 fantasy points) in only 23.2 minutes per game through 29 contests. Pokusevski’s seen extended run recently, averaging 27.3 fantasy points in 32.1 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s also flashed upside for his price, scoring 30+ fantasy points in 4 of his last 10 games, including a 48 fantasy point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Pokusevski gets an interesting matchup against the Detroit Pistons tonight. They rank 23rd in the NBA in pace and 18th in defensive efficiency this season. Detroit’s seen mixed results against forwards throughout the season, struggling quite a bit against power forwards specifically. Pokusevski’s expected to see a usage rating north of 20% tonight, and he’s a player that can contribute on some level in each of the five categories. More importantly, Oklahoma City continues to deal with injuries and they recently waived Justin Jackson. Pokusevski should be locked into 30+ minutes tonight, spending plenty of time at power forward. He’s a player that certainly comes with risk, although he possesses elite upside for his current price tag.
