Kevon Looney
Looney’s struggled with injuries and limited minutes this season. Through 50 games, he’s averaging 3.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists (14 fantasy points) in only 17.3 minutes per game. Looney’s played a bigger role in recent games, averaging 20.2 fantasy points in 27.4 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s posted 18+ fantasy points in each of his last 8 games, including 6 games with 20+ fantasy points.
Looney gets a great matchup against the Dallas Mavericks tonight. They rank 25th in the NBA in pace and 19th in defensive efficiency this season. Dallas also struggles against opposing centers. Looney isn’t a high usage player, as his usage rating generally sits around 10%. He has the ability to contribute in each of the five categories at some level, though. Furthermore, he’s a double-double threat on any given night. The Golden State Warriors continue to deal with injuries, suggesting Looney could play upwards of 30 minutes tonight. Although he hasn’t flashed it in recent games, he boasts 30+ fantasy point upside. Looney’s too cheap for his versatility if he’s playing big minutes. He could go overlooked because of his center-only eligibility tonight.
