Kevon Looney
Looney has seen mixed results in limited minutes for the Golden State Warriors this season. He’s averaging 3.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, (13.1 fantasy points) in only 16.1 minutes per game through 44 contests. Looney’s also averaging 15.6 fantasy points in 22 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s scored 18+ fantasy points in each of his last 3 games, although he’s only topped out at 21.75 fantasy points. With that being said, he averaged nearly a fantasy point per minute in that game.
Looney gets an interesting matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. They rank 25th in the NBA in pace and 22nd in defensive efficiency this season. Cleveland’s also featured an above-average defense against opposing centers throughout the season, although their success comes from giving up the second-fewest points per game to the position, per FantasyPros. Looney’s usage rating generally sits around 10%, but he boasts the potential to contribute in multiple categories when given the minutes. With James Wiseman, Eric Paschall, and Kelly Oubre Jr. dealing with injuries, Looney is expected to play roughly 25 minutes tonight, although his minutes are far from consistent. He’ll see low ownership because of his position, but he makes a solid salary relief option in tournaments tonight.
