Cody Zeller
Zeller has looked outstanding when given the minutes for the Charlotte Hornets this season. He’s averaging 9.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists (23.6 fantasy points) in only 21.3 minutes per game through 33 contests. Zeller’s also averaging 27.4 fantasy points in 21.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s quietly posted 36 and 38.5 fantasy points in 2 of his last 3 games.
Zeller gets an interesting matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. They rank 16th in the NBA in pace and first in defensive efficiency this season. Los Angeles has performed well against opposing centers throughout the season, but the addition of Andre Drummond will hinder their interior defense. Zeller’s usage rating fluctuates quite a bit, although it generally sits around 20%. He’s a versatile option that can contribute in multiple categories, although he generally relies on scoring and rebounding. His minutes are inconsistent, though he’s expected to play around 20 tonight. With that being said, Charlotte could use Zeller’s size against Drummond. The Hornets center is a player that generally produces when on the court, and his minutes will be key tonight. He’s a boom or bust tournament option that comes with an elite ceiling for his price tag.
