Robert Covington
Covington’s been a boom or bust option for the Portland Blazers this season. He’s averaging 8.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.6 steals (24.6 fantasy points) in 31.5 minutes per game through 32 contests. Covington has been heating up a bit recently, averaging 27.3 fantasy points in 33.1 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s also posted 39.25 and 47.5 fantasy points in his last 2 games.
Covington gets an elite matchup against the Sacramento Kings tonight. They rank eighth in the NBA in pace and last in defensive efficiency. Sacramento’s struggled against bigs throughout the season, although they’ve struggled against every position. Covington isn’t a high usage option, but he has the ability to contribute in each of the five categories with double-double potential. He’s also played 38+ minutes in each of his last 3 games, and he’s expected to find similar minutes tonight. There are several great options for Portland tonight, which could cause Covington to go a bit overlooked. He’s a solid tournament option in the mid-price range.
