Mason Plumlee
Plumlee has quietly been enjoying an outstanding season for the Detroit Pistons. He’s averaging 10.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists (30.8 fantasy points) in 27.4 minutes per game through 41 contests. Plumlee caught fire in recent games, as well, averaging 33.9 fantasy points in only 25.3 minutes per game over the last 10 days. Even with inconsistent minutes, he posted 29+ fantasy points in 8 of his last 9 games, including a 50.25 fantasy point performance.
Plumlee gets a great matchup against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. They rank 12th in the NBA in pace and 25th in defensive efficiency this season. Brooklyn also features one of the worst defenses in the NBA against centers, specifically struggling against versatile opponents. Plumlee doesn’t feature a high usage rating, but he boasts triple-double potential with the ability to contribute in each of the five categories. His inconsistent minutes pose a problem, but he saw 29 minutes in each of his last 2 games, and he should see similar minutes tonight. Plumlee’s a player that tends to go overlooked, and that will likely be the case again tonight. His ownership should be next to nothing if Jimmy Butler is ruled out, as Bam Adebayo will become the chalk play at center. Regardless of Butler, Plumlee will be under-owned in this matchup.
