Christian Wood
Wood’s dealt with injuries throughout the season, although he’s been elite when healthy. Through 20 games, he’s averaging 22.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.6 blocks (42.3 fantasy points) in 31 minutes per game. Wood returned in recent days, playing 26, 28, and 36 minutes. He’s posted 35+ fantasy points in each of those games, including a 46.5 fantasy point performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wood gets an interesting matchup against the Toronto Raptors tonight. They rank 11th in the NBA in pace and 16th in defensive efficiency this season. Toronto’s also seen mixed results opposing centers. Wood’s posted a usage rating of 25% or better in each of his 3 games since returning. His usage rating tonight is expected to sit slightly above 25% once again, although it could jump to over 30% depending on how the game is played. Wood’s also expected to continue to play minutes in the mid-30s, as he looks fully healthy at this point in the season. He’s a player that will garner some ownership, but it will be entirely too low for his ceiling and current price tag. Even in a questionable matchup, Wood makes one of the best tournament options on this slate.
