Norman Powell
Powell’s found success throughout this season. Through 34 games, he’s averaging 18.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 steals (27.8 fantasy points) in 29.3 minutes per game. Powell’s seen a larger role in the rotation in recent games with Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, and OG Anunoby injured. He’s posted 39+ fantasy points in 4 of his last 5 games, including each of his last 3.
Powell gets a plus matchup against the Atlanta Hawks tonight. They rank 21st in the NBA in pace and 24th in defensive rating this season. Powell posted 32.5 fantasy points in 32.1 minutes against Atlanta in their only matchup this season, even though VanVleet and Siakam played full minutes in that game. That pair and Anunoby have been ruled out tonight, forcing Powell into minutes in the high-30s. Powell’s usage rating is expected to sit over 25% with the potential for it to jump over 30% tonight. He’s a scoring-dependent player but comes with 30+ point upside in this matchup. Powell isn’t cheap, which will keep his ownership down, but he’s an elite tournament option tonight.
