Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP play. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP play for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts articles and access to our Discord, click here.
Seth Curry
Curry’s struggled at times with the Philadelphia 76ers this season. He’s averaging 12.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists (21.3 fantasy points) in 27.2 minutes per game. Curry recently missed time with Covid and hasn’t looked the same since returning. In his final game before contracting the virus, he scored 41.25 fantasy points, but he has topped 25 fantasy points in 9 games since returning to action.
Curry gets an elite matchup against the Sacramento Kings tonight. They rank 13th in the NBA in pace and last in defensive efficiency this season, although they’ve been slightly better in recent games. Still, Sacramento boasts the worst defense in the NBA against opposing shooting guards, specifically scorers, such as Curry. Curry doesn’t boast a high usage rating, but he’s proven he can be a dominant scorer when his shot is falling. He’s expected to play minutes in the high-20s tonight. Curry certainly comes with plenty of risk as a scoring-dependent player, but he boasts elite upside in this matchup. Shake Milton is a slightly higher usage guard for Philadelphia that can be considered in GPPs, as well.
