Jaylen Nowell
Nowell’s enjoying a solid season in limited minutes for the Minnesota Wolves. The second-year player is averaging 8.9 points and 1.7 rebounds (13.9 fantasy points) in 15.4 minutes per game through 19 games. Overall, Nowell’s played 19+ minutes in 6 games, averaging 19.5 fantasy points per game in those contests. He’s scored 16.25 and 22.5 fantasy points in his last 2 games, though.
Nowell gets an elite matchup against the Washington Wizards tonight. They lead the NBA in pace while ranking 27th in defensive efficiency this season. Washington’s struggled against guards this season, as well. Nowell’s usage rating quietly sits around 20%, and he could find similar usage tonight. There will be plenty of guard minutes available, as well, as D’Angelo Russell is injured and Malik Beasley is suspended. Nowell isn’t expected to be locked into major minutes, but he’s currently projected to play roughly 20-25 minutes tonight. There are plenty of high-priced options to spend up for on this slate, making Nowell an elite salary relief option in this matchup.
