Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP play. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP play for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts article and access to our Discord, click here.
Jamal Murray
Murray’s seen plenty of ups and downs through 28 games this season. He’s averaging 20.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals (36 fantasy points) in 35 minutes per game thus far. Murray’s caught fire recently, though, averaging 49.8 fantasy points in 36.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s posted 45+ fantasy points in each of his last 4 games, including 68 and 61.25 fantasy point performances.
Murray gets a great matchup against the Portland Blazers tonight. They currently rank 17th in the NBA in pace and 29th in defensive efficiency. Portland also features one of the worst defenses in the NBA against point guards. Murray’s quietly scoring at an elite level, posting a usage rating north of 30% in each of his last 4 games. That trend could continue tonight in an elite matchup. He’s expected to continue to play minutes in the high-30s for Denver. Murray consistently goes overlooked with Nikola Jokic having an MVP-caliber campaign, although the former comes with tremendous upside when his shots falling. He isn’t cheap, but he makes an elite tournament option on this slate.
