Nerlens Noel
Noel’s performed well in limited minutes for the New York Knicks this season. Through 23 games, he’s averaging 3.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks (16.1 fantasy points) in only 18.1 minutes per game. Overall, Noel’s averaging 7.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 3.9 assists on a per-36 minute basis this season. He’s played 28+ minutes in 2 of his last 5 games, scoring 23 and 25.5 fantasy points in those contests.
Noel gets an interesting matchup against the Atlanta Hawks tonight. They currently rank 14th in the NBA in pace and 17th in defensive efficiency. Atlanta’s quietly performed well against the center this season, although I don’t truly believe it will matter for Noel tonight. He’s a low-usage player that boasts double-double potential when given the playing time. His ceiling comes from his elite steal and block ability, as he’s recorded multiple steals or 5+ blocks in limited minutes on multiple occasions this season. With Mitchell Robinson out, Noel is expected to play 30+ minutes once again tonight. There are a plethora of other centers options, including DeMarcus Cousins and JaVale McGee, that are expected to garner more ownership, making Noel the perfect tournament play for a cheap price tag.
