NBA DFS 3/22/23 – Ben’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Ben’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Trae Young

I wrote up Young yesterday, and he will once again be considered a top play with Dejounte Murray out and Bogdan Bogdanovic questionable to play. His fantasy production has really been hindered by Murray this season — he sees a massive 6% usage rate increase with Murray off the floor and his fantasy points per minute rise to above 1.5. Overall, this is an extremely messy injury slate and we are going to end up with plenty of value tonight. It’s pretty clearly going to be a stars and scrubs slate once again, and starting with Trae Young will be my play on both sites.

Damian Lillard + Cam Reddish

Continuing with the spend-ups, it’s going to be a spend-up at Guard night tonight with Anfernee Simons out for the Blazers. Lillard was pushing $11K in DFS salary while Simons was out, but his return to the lineup for a few days really hindered his offensive ceiling and resulted in a price drop. He’s priced as if he’s playing tonight, but he’s out along with Jerami Grant. If you take both of them off the floor — we get an other-worldly 43% usage rate for Lillard this season. In addition to that, it will allow Reddish to return to his starting role and become a top value play. These three will be the first three players inserted into my cash game build on Wednesday night.

Value Plays

David Roddy

In addition to Ja Morant likely being out tonight, Dillon Brooks will miss tonight’s game due to his accumulation of technical fouls. This will likely insert David Roddy into the starting lineup, and he is around min-price across the industry. Roddy is a high-motor player capable of racking up stats other than just scoring. He owns a solid 0.75 fantasy point per minute rate this season and will be arguably the highest-owned player tonight should be be confirmed as starting.
