Building Blocks
Anthony Davis
There are several strong option on Tuesday’s slate due to the amount of injuries — but I can’t overlook Anthony Davis here. This isn’t an easy match-up by any stretch, but the Grizzlies frontcourt is less intimidating with Steven Adams still sidelines. Los Angeles is in must-win mode — they have to win games to secure a playoff spot and I’m expecting Anthony Davis to completely take over while LeBron James is out. He leads the team in every metric sans James, including a near 33% usage rate. He also has averaged over 50 DK points per 36 minutes with James off the floor. He is not going to be a secret tonight, but we do currently have him outside the top-seven in our projected ownership. He has a top-five ceiling projection out of all players tonight, and I love him in all formats.
Lu Dort
Dort is averaging 33 DK points per game over his last three games, and actually sees the largest usage rate spike on the Thunder with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander off the floor at 6%. He is still priced like SGA is playing in my opinion, and this is a potential ceiling match-up against against a fast-paced Kings team. Sacramento ranks 10th overall in pace, with the Thunder ranking top-three these teams should have no problem getting up and down the court. Overall, Dort is a top-seven value in our projections tonight due to his role with no SGA — and he’s one of my favorite options for both cash games and tournaments on Tuesday.
Value Plays
Dennis Schroder + Kris Dunn
We are awarded multiple cheap guards on Tuesday night, with Dennis Schroder set to start in place of D’Angelo Russell and Kris Dunn getting a boost with no Collin Sexton or Jordan Clarkson. Schroder has the second-highest usage rate on the team with LeBron James and Russell Westrbook off the floor at 28% — and we have him projected for around 35 minutes tonight. Malik Beasley will also be a popular play with these guys out for the Lakers, but Schroder should have the ball in his hands the most and is my top-overall mid-tier play tonight. Dunn is coming off a 40+ fantasy point game, and should play more than he has in any game for the Jazz so far. He posted those 40 fantasy points in just 23 minutes over the weekend, while we have him closer to 30 minutes of action tonight. Overall, he will be one of the highest-owned players on the slate and can be plugged into any cash game or single-entry build.
