NBA DFS 2/23/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Thursday…

Players Listed As Questionable

Happy Thursday everyone! We are finally back from the All-Star break and since these teams have been off for a week we don’t have a ton of Q tags to dissect this morning, instead I’ll talk about some guys that we already know will be out. I’ll highlight the big names to watch and I’ll be around to answer any questions throughout the day in Discord. You can join the Discord for free here.

Steph Curry

Curry is developing well through injury the Warriors said, but he still isn’t ready to get back on the floor. Poole will continue to be the biggest beneficiary as well as Klay Thompson. Draymond takes on more assists, but has historically played worse with Curry off the floor. It’s not related to Curry, but we have Kevon Looney popping for over 20% OWN% tonight as of early this morning. Note that Andrew Wiggins is also out tonight.

Anfernee Simons + Jusuf Nurkic

These guys continue to miss for Portland, and Simons missing increases Damian Lillard’s already massive ceiling projection. We actually have him projected for the highest ceiling projection on the slate, even higher than Luka Doncic, and one of the highest-owned options as well. It feels like Sharpe and the newly acquired Cam Reddish benefit the most minutes-wise, and Eubanks will continue to start in place of Nurkic.

Aaron Gordon

The ceiling projections on Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic get increased, while Vlatko Cancar will start in his place one again.

Collin Sexton

This is actually a big injury on this slate, because with Mike Conley no longer there Sexton is going to playing all the minutes he can handle down the stretch of the season. Jordan Clarkson and Talen Horton-Tucker benefit the most and they are both inside the top-six in our early ownership projections for tonight’s slate.

San Antonio Spurs

Tre Jones is still doubtful to play, and we now have Jeremy Sochan as questionable instead of out. It will be the same situation we had pre-break — if these guys are both out then Malaki Branham and Keita Bates-Diop get the biggest increases.

This is pretty much all for now – I won’t be shocked to see surprise stuff pop up so stay tuned to my Building Blocks article this afternoon!
