Building Blocks

Anthony Edwards

Before I hop into the plays I want to make sure I note that we have a nice Black Friday sale going on this week! With that being said, let’s talk about the optimal plays for tonight’s main slate. Edwards will be one of the top targets on tonight’s slate with Karl-Anthony Towns out for Minnesota. This season, Edwards is averaging a 27% usage rate and 1.06 DraftKings points per minute — with Towns off floor we see his usage rate rise to over 30%. Memphis has actually been a below-average defensive team this season and Edwards is going to dominate the offense tonight. He’s still priced as if Towns is playing, and we have him projected for over 40 fantasy points tonight in our Projections Portal.

Josh Giddey

We have Giddey projected inside the top-four in projected ownership tonight, as well as our top overall value on DraftKings. He’s averaging a 24% usage rate and over one point per minute this season, and now will be playing without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. We had a decent sample of Giddey sans SGA last season, in which we saw Giddey put up over 40 fantasy points per game. Giddey has been super aggressive in the past with SGA off the floor, and there’s a good chance that he is getting in the paint even more on Wednesday night. He’s the top projected player on this slate, and I think he is viable in all formats even at this high pOWN%.

Value Plays

Kyle Anderson

There’s tons of value tonight, but Anderson is currently projected to be the highest-owned player on the main slate in our Projections Portal. Minny hasn’t been super inclined to play a ton of Naz Reid next to Rudy Gobert, which makes Anderson the most likely candidate to start in Towns place tonight. We have him projected for around 27 minutes of action tonight, and at sub-$4K that makes him the top-overall value on tonight’s slate.

Ja Morant

Morant is someone that I’m unlikely to get exposure to on DK tonight in my main team, due to making both Edwards and Giddey priorities. The great thing about OwnersBox other than the roster flexibility is that the salary is typically a bit looser making it easier to get an extra top-level player in your lineup. Morant has been a fantasy force with Desmond Bane out of the lineup, including posting a massive 37% usage rate. We will obviously be targeting Minnesota heavily tonight without KAT, so it only makes sense to get some correlation with Morant on the other side. This game sports a nice 231 total separated by just a few points on the spread, and grabbing multiple pieces from it is a good play in all formats tonight.
