The Core
Nikola Jokic- After a rough start to the season, looking fatigued and a little out of shape, the “Joker” has been slowly finding his stride as of late, with a double double in 3/4 along with a triple double vs Boston. Today he gets PHX, who have been struggling with interior depth, as they lost Ayton to a SSPD, and Baynes to a hip injury. Jokic should eat tonight, Kaminsky/Diallo/Saric won’t be able to stop him and the Suns are 8th in pace.
Spencer Dinwiddie- I feel like I’ve written this guy up multiple times, but with Kyrie and Levert out, he’s garnered a 35% usage rate with 1.3 FPPM. Today he gets the Kings, the price tag hasn’t budged, he’s shooting the ball 15+ times a game, what’s there not to like? The only thing I can see is the other SG options are in great spots as well, but I like Dinwiddie to hit 40+ today.
Honorable Mention- Bradley Beal
The Value
J.J. Redick- Redick has been on an incredible 7 game streak of 18+ points and nearly 6x value (on FD). Redick has been taking advantage of his opportunities and with the Pelicans so shorthanded he’s been getting good volume and minutes. Clippers pose a tougher matchup, but Redick should have all he can handle tonight.
Tyler Johnson- Rubio is out again, and “TJ” he played 31 minutes yesterday vs the Wolves. Johnson doesn’t have high usage but he’s always a threat for a couple steals, boards and assists to hit value. On a slate with little value, Johnson is primed for high ownership.
Bertans- I wrote Bertans up on Friday and he ended up having the best game of the season with 20/8/4 with a block, and I’m going right back to him today vs the Kings. He’s scored 15+ in 3 straight, and 20+ in his last two games.
Honorable Mention- Joe Harris
Tournament Plays
Kelly Oubre Jr.- Oubre has been on an absolute tear after calling himself out for his poor play 6 games ago. Since then, He scored 20+ in 4/5 and 25+ in 3/5, on his way to massive games including 3 games of 45 FDP or more. The encouraging part is that he’s seen a minutes increase as well back to his normal run of 35-37 minutes a game. Oubre could be a borderline cash play today.
Ish Smith- Smith is inconsistent due to the fact that Coach Brooks runs the hot hand in D.C. Ish has scored 33.8 in his last two, and if Coach Brooks runs the hot hand again tonight, Smith will see 25+ minutes and can flash his upside. He’s tournament only, as he can get more than Johnson (cash) but has a lower floor.
