Building Blocks
Giannis Antetokounmpo
We all know the story when it comes to Giannis Antetokounmpo and that’s to just play him most slates. He’s one of the best players in NBA DFS and has averaged over 1.9 DraftKings points per minute this season. This is a smash spot for the Bucks, matching up with Brooklyn who has been one of the worst defensive teams in basketball. He’s been averaging around 32 minutes per game this season, and we could see that number come up if this game is close. Currently, the Bucks are favored by 3.5 points so hopefully we see a close game. There’s plenty of value opening up as we approach lock, and that makes Giannis the top overall play in all formats on Wednesday night.
Tyler Herro
I’ve been regularly playing Tyler Herro this season and I think he’s a strong option again on Wednesday night against the Blazers. He is seeing a completely different role in 2022, stepping into the starting lineup and playing bigger minutes. Not only is the role better, but he’s actually leading the team in usage rate right now at 26%. Vegas thinks this game will be close and we’ve seen him have huge games in close contests already. I think there’s some sticker shock with this price tag, but the increase in salary is warranted with how he’s been playing and I think he can be used in all formats tonight.
Value Plays
Josh Richardson + Spurs
There’s been way too much Spurs chalk this season, but that’s once again the case on Wednesday with Devin Vassell ruled out. This allows a very cheap Josh Richardson to step into his starting role, and gives up huge fantasy expectation increases on guys like Tre Jones and Keldon Johnson. There are other cheaper guys that get boosts as well with Vassell out, but Richardson stepping into the starting lineup and logging over 30 minutes (projected) makes him the top value on the entire slate.
OwnersBox Play
If you’ve never checked out OwnersBox Fantasy — CLICK HERE and use Promo Code KARMA for a 100% deposit match up to $500 along with a free $10 DFS contest entry. The great thing about OwnersBox is the super-flex format and it allows for some really unique builds without having to force certain positions into your lineups.
LeBron James
I would love to get to LeBron on DraftKings if possible, but with Giannis being my priority there I’m not sure I can fit in both. That’s the great thing about OwnersBox, you always have room to stuff in the studs and this is a nice match-up for LeBron. Russell Westbrook is out for the Lakers tonight, which means Bron can handle the ball even more that he typically does. Last season he saw around a 3% usage spike with no Westbrook, and I think the entire offense will run through him tonight — per usual. Overall, it’s a great spot and if the Lakers are in this game it’s pretty much a given that he’s having a monster fantasy game.
