NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Monday night…
Players Listed As Questionable
There’s only six games on Monday night due to the CFB National Championship game, which leaves us with a pretty laid back slate in terms of injury news. It’s the NBA, so things can always pop up, but as of now there are really only two big situations to monitor with the Memphis Grizzlies and Keldon Johnson from the Spurs. If any news breaks post-noon, I will have my updated targets in my free building blocks article. We also will be breaking down any late-afternoon news in Discord and the Final Thoughts cheat sheet.
Ja Morant + Steven Adams
Both Morant and Adams missed Sunday’s game, but it seems more likely that they missed due to the back-to-back effect rather than actually needing to miss the game. That being said, Adams in particular was out due to an illness to there is a chance he misses again — but I think it’s likely Morant plays. If only Adams misses, Xavier Tillman would start in his place and we would likely see a pretty nice game from Jaren Jackson if he isn’t fouling people. If for some reason they both miss again — all of Tyus Jones, Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks would be strong plays.
Keldon Johnson
This is the big news we are waiting for with Devin Vassell still out for the Spurs. Johnson dominates this team and offense with Vassell off the floor, so a lot of things open up if he also misses the game. Tre Jones and Jeremy Sochan would be strong mid-tier options if he’s out as well as Keita Bates-Diop who will start in his place. Jakob Poeltl is also a fine option, but he is listed Q to play as well.
Marcus Smart (D)
Marcus Smart is expected to miss tonight, which boosts both of Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White.
RJ Barrett (D)
Julius Randle will continue to be one of the best players in fantasy volume-wise with him out — while Immanuel Quickley will start. Jalen Brunson also sees increased usage once again.
