What’s up everyone and welcome to Ben’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…
Building Blocks
Alperen Sengun
Wednesday sets up similarly to Tuesday in that I will be on quite a few of the same plays since a lot of teams are on a back-to-back. There’s still A TON of injury news we are waiting on tonight, so be sure to check out Final Thoughts for the updated look at tonight’s roster construction. My favorite spend-up tonight is once again our guy Alperen Sengun in a great spot against the Washington Wizards. I noted on Monday that he’s up to over 1.4 fantasy points per minute since Kevin Porter Jr got injured — up from his season rate of 1.1. The minutes have been incredible as of slate too, he’s topped 30+ in five straight games and has regularly seen upper-30’s minutes loads. Washington is one of the worst defensive teams against big-men, and he’s been on an absolute tear. I’m hoping that the plethora of cheap F/C guys keep his ownership in check, but he’s a top play in all formats for me on Wednesday.
TJ McConnell
McConnell was one of the highest-owned plays on Tuesday night’s slate, and that will likely happen once again tonight regardless of Andrew Nembhard’s availability. He played major minutes in a comeback victory last night, and we don’t need to worry about Nembhard since he started alongside him over the weekend. Typically I would be more concerned about the B2B, but they just don’t really have the bodies right now. As long as this game stays competitive, we can expect big minutes from McConnell and he’s once again grading out as a top value.
Value Plays
Deni Avdija
I wrote Avdija up yesterday and he kindly responded with 39 DK points in 32 minutes off the bench. He should be locked into heavier minutes once again tonight — and the sites haven’t adjusted to this potential new role with no Rui Hachimura. As I said yesterday, I think he’s one of the most underrated players in basketball and he will always be a top value for me when expected to see increased minutes. It’s a good match-up against Houston, and he correlates well with Sengun on the other side of the game.
OwnersBox Top Play
If you’ve never checked out OwnersBox Fantasy — CLICK HERE and use Promo Code KARMA for a 100% deposit match up to $500 along with a free $10 DFS contest entry. The great thing about OwnersBox is the super-flex format and it allows for some really unique builds without having to force certain positions into your lineups.
Xavier Tillman
I was going to include Tillman in the value section above, but I think it’s known he’s a virtual lock if starting today which makes him especially valuable on OwnersBox. OB already supports more of a stars/scrub type lineup build due to the positional flexibility — and finding these near min-price plays are key to nightly success. He’s just south of a fantasy point per minute player and is expected to step into the starting lineup for the injured Steven Adams. We have him projected for around 24 minutes tonight, and if we get the confirmation he is starting he becomes the top value on all sites.
