Guard
Luka Doncic- Many will go with Damian Lillard at their PG position tonight with CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic still out for the Blazers. While I don’t think Dame is a bad play whatsoever, the back-to-back and individual matchup with Lu Dort’s defense is enough for me to lean towards Doncic at lower ownership. Denver is once again one of the worst defensive units in the NBA, and Doncic as already torched them for 79 DK points once this season. Of course that came before the return of Kristaps Porzingis, but fear not, Luka has actually been better and more efficient playing alongside Zinger. After a rough first few games, Doncic is over 1.6 DK points per minute on the season and he would of completely broken the slate on Saturday night had it not been a blowout. He was able to churn out 45 DK points in just 29 minutes. I fully expect Luka and Joker to battle it out in this one, and I love that the spread is under two points. He is my top graded play on tonight’s slate.
Forward
Isaiah Roby- The Thunder will once again be without Al Horford tonight, which means we can expect Roby to draw the start. He’s been solid at just under one full point per minute this season, and remains under $5,000 in salary. Enes Kanter has been solid defensively as of late, but we have a large sample size of him being dreadful in that regard. I also think Roby might be too quick for him to handle, and with Rob Covington out the Blazers are down their best defender in the frontcourt. I really want to jam in Nikola Jokic alongside Luka if possible, and Roby and potentially Derrick Jones Jr in this same game can provide some value to do so.
Center
Bam Adebayo- Bam Bam isn’t someone I typically play in DFS when the Heat are at full strength, but due to health protocols he has been at the top of my list a few times in recent weeks. He averages just south of 1.4 fantasy points per minute with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro off the floor, both are set to miss tonight’s game against the Nets. Bam scored a career-high 41 real points vs this Nets team on Saturday, and now gets that same matchup on Monday night. Brooklyn is pushing the pace as much as possible, which gives Adebayo more opportunity to score or rack up peripherals. They don’t have anyone to matchup with Bam after the trades they’ve made, and he is grading out as a fantastic value at only $8,500 on DK.
