Utah Jazz (-170)
The Utah Jazz have struggled a bit more than anticipated early this season, but they have dealt with an injury to their star player – Donovan Mitchell. Still, they ran 12th in the NBA in net offensive and defensive rating (1.5). Mitchell, along with the rest of their team, will suit up tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis has been enjoying a surprising season, ranking 10th in the league in net off and def rating (1.8). The Grizzlies own a 2-0 record against the Jazz this season, as well, winning by a total of 18 points. I expect Utah to get better as they get healthy, though, and Mitchell was only able to play in one of those games. Overall, I feel a fully healthy Utah team is one of the best in the West, while Memphis has been overperforming early this season.

Dallas Mavericks (N/A)
The Chicago Bulls have struggled early and often this season, posting a 4-9 record through 13 games. They essentially have one signature win, beating the Charlotte Hornets, although that game was in Chicago. Aside from that, they have wins over the Knicks, Hawks, and Cavaliers, who all rank in the bottom-four of the East this season. The Dallas Mavericks have also struggled with a 4-8 record this season, although they’re coming off of an impressive win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. That is Dallas’ only signature win this season, and they have been wildly inconsistent. With that being said, they rank 21st in the NBA in net off and def rating (-3.0), while Chicago ranks 25th in the league in net off and def rating (-6.7). Dallas should be a slight favorite in this game, making the pick ‘em an odds value bet on this slate.

Dallas Mavericks (N/A)/Chicago Bulls (N/A)
I’m expecting this game to be a bit higher scoring than most. In their only matchup this season, the Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls combined for 224 points. These two teams only rank 15th and 23rd in the NBA in pace, respectively, but that may not matter. Dallas ranks only 24th in the league in defensive rating, while Chicago ranks 26th in the same category. Dallas has also featured a slightly above average offense this season. Both teams, specifically the Bulls, are dealing with injuries, which is a bit concerning, but this game total is still entirely too low for the lack of defense these two teams have displayed.
