Another Injury and Covid riddled NBA slate! I personally have enjoyed digging through all of these weird rotations and lineups.
Today’s slate starts with the Nets situation. Kevin Durant will have to quarantine after being a close contact. Kyrie Irving will sit the second end of the B2B. James Harden will be a priority spend up. Harden is a lock for me in all formats. The values that come from this situation are Bruce Brown and Timothy Luwawu-Cabarrot. TLC can be frustrating to roster. If his shot is falling though, he possesses big upside for sub 4k on DK.
OKC will be thin today just like last night. We saw Diallo and Horford absolutely crush. Bazley was fine, Kenrich Williams played big minutes but lacked production. I expect a bounce back from Kenrich and Bazley today. Horford would be more on my radar if it wasn’t for Vucevic and Cousins being such strong center plays today.
Christian Wood has an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for some time. It will once again be the Demarcus Cousins show for the Rockets. Cousins has a great matchup today versus the undersized Spurs frontcourt.
Nikola Vucevic dropped a 75 point fantasy bomb on us last night. The usage and opportunity will be there until Gordon returns. Vuc will be a foundational building block of my teams tonight once again.
A sneaky guard play today is Derrick White, White is working his way back from injury but already producing at the same levels we saw last season. Lonnie Walker will be out tonight leaving the door open for White to play minutes into the 30s.
If you are looking for another spend up option with Harden, look no further than Luka Doncic. Luka will look to bounce back today versus the same Warriors team he struggled with the other night. The presence of Harden and the bad game log, should keep Luka’s ownership in check. If Luka is going to be low owned, I am in.
Lauri Markkanen will be out tonight for the Bulls. Thad Young’s production has been incredible this season. He will be asked to play minutes into the 30s with Lauri sidelined. We have been waiting for this minute increase, we finally have it.
