Too bad last night we got screwed over by LeBron in a pace up spot because Anthony Davis just decided to be superman and drop the fastest 40/20 game in the history of the NBA, leading to a blowout win where Lebron barely had to play the 4th quarter. As well as AD taking every rebound he could so LeBron had a floor rebounding game, which led to him going under. Oh well.
Karl Anthony-Towns UNDER 56.2 fantasy points: KAT has started this season off to an amazing start averaging 67.17 fantasy points per game. So you have to ask yourself; Joey, why are we going under on a prop 10 fantasy points below his average? Well, the answer is simple. That number is completely unsustainable, especially in tough matchups. Embiid and Towns also have some history together, they got into some Instagram beef, but KAT seems to be passed that. His usage rate is high but in this tough matchup and commitment to getting the win, KAT can’t try to have such a huge game to try to win. He needs to let his teammates take control. Embiid is a big body center, the type that KAT struggles against. He has yet to go over 20 real points against Embiid in his couple matchups during his career. 56 is also a really high number and requires basically perfection and some help from Blocks and Steals. If he isn’t getting a 30/15 game he will need to get bailed out by Blocks and Steals, which more often than not he won’t get. This seems like a pretty easy under to me. Monkey Knife had him so low yesterday I had to get the over at 49.5 but at 56 to get over that hump seems way too tough.
Nikola Vucevic UNDER 41.0 fantasy points: Let me first start by saying if you are in our discord, I’m sorry. We never play this guy because of how much he has screwed us, but I’m pretty confident in this under. He has seen his usage drop this year by over 2% which ends up ranking him 56th in the league in usage with players over 20 minutes per game, instead of last year where he ranked 34th. He has yet to break the 40 point mark as well. New York used to be a matchup I liked to target for Centers but that has changed this year (Can’t use last year’s numbers to predict this year). NY ranks 13th in pace and 7th in rebounding percentage all not the best numbers to attack with a Center. NYK’s are a brand new team with all new starters and the emergence of Mitchell Robinson defensively helps as well. Let’s hope Robinson doesn’t get into foul trouble.
