Welcome DFS grinders, I have a new article debuting today. I will be taking a look at the Data Dashboard’s (Fanduel) (Draftkings) ownership projections and find the sub 10% owned plays that will help you take down a GPP. With today’s saturated market everyone can figure the “optimal” plays but where pros have the most success is weighing that ownership and finding the plays no one is talking about. Chalk city is a trend this year and you have to sometimes even eat that chalk in GPPs but let’s not worry about that. Let’s talk about those plays that will sneak you past those high owned plays and get you a couple of points above the field. ” That’s what I would include in every heading. Then add something different depending on the slate: “We are starting off on a 14 game slate so there will be plenty of low owned plays tonight to get an edge. Ownership changes throughout the day so potential chalk plays can change throughout the day. Cash plays you were on at the beginning of the day can turn into as great low owned GPP plays as injury news that we always get throughout the day comes in and people get off their first look plays especially on these huge slates.
Point Guard
Ricky Rubio: He’s in a great spot tonight vs the Washington Wizards who are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. There is a 240 point total so there is a lot of fantasy-relevant players that you want to get into your lineups. Rubio draws Isiah Thomas defense. This is probably the easiest defensive matchup you can draw in the NBA so Rubio should be able to get whatever he wants tonight. High paced High total, with plenty of points and peripheral opportunities for Rubio tonight to easily hit his ceiling. He might end up being a little chalky on DK wit him being only $5.5k but on FD he is a little higher priced at $6.8K where he will go overlooked tonight. 40-50 point upside tonight and should be a staple of your GPP lineups tonight.
Shoot Guard
Zach Lavine: The Bulls gets the Warriors at home. If the Warriors are able to keep this game close which Vegas does believe then Lavine will have a huge night tonight. You get him at a discount at only $7.5k just because his floor is so low because of his lack of peripherals. He has by far the highest usage rate out of all starters on the team with 29% with Markkenan being the second higher with 20%. You are getting him at singe digit ownership, the Data Dashboard has him at 7% but you should be able to get him even less ownership.
Small Forward
Brandon Ingram: He is projected for 6% ownership on the DK Data Dashboard and if that is true then I will be all in on him. Ingram is in the REVENGE spot against the Lakers. Ingram was never truly utilized correctly and was happy to get out of a bad situation for him. You just know he is ready to stick it to him. His price isn’t crazy which leaves him with a potentially huge ceiling (FD: 8.8k, DK: 8.3k). He has 40+ fantasy points in 11 out of 13 games this season which is close to 5x almost every slate. He actually sees a bump in scoring and fantasy points with Lonzo Ball on the floor so it will be helpful if Ball plays too.
Power Forward
Dario Saric: With Baynes out and still no Ayton the Suns are left with two Bigs: Frank the Tank and Saric. Both will have to play big minutes so you can get exposure to both of them. Plenty of shots will be going up in this game between two of the higher paced teams in the league. Jokic just came down with 20 rebounds in 3 quarters so we could see a similar upside with the Wizards being the 5th worst rebounding team in the league by percentage. Saric is coming off a 33 minute game; running minute for minute with Booker. This is one of my favorite Plays on the boards and I even might throw him as a low owned cash play. He is projected for 7.5% on DK Data Dashboard and I love him at that price.
Center
Wendell Carter Jr: He is projected for 9.5% on DK Data Dashboard and I love him at that price. He is priced at $6.9k (nice) and as I mentioned with Lavine this is a great game to target at low ownership. He is going up against the Warriors who really don’t have a big that can play defense Chriss and WCS are awful defenders like most bigs in the league especially younger ones. As long as he doesn’t get into foul trouble you can get a 40+ point upside double double player tonight. He will go completely overlooked like most centers outside of the main couple centers. The Warriors rank bottom third in the league in rebounding % and the top half in pace. LEading to a lot of missed shots for rebounding upside.
