What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to another edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Value is mainly determined by two things: injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury news. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price, and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.
If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will be times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Whether it is on the free side or the premium side there will always be people discussing injury news and how it has impacted the slate.

Jarred Vanderbilt $4,900:
With Ricky Rubio, Juancho Hernangomez, and Karl Anthony-Towns ruled out Vanderbilt is going to step into a bigger role tonight against the Magic. I wrote him up the last article but of course, the game got canceled against Memphis on the 15th. So we are back at it again writing him up. In the two games where Vanderbilt saw 20+ minutes, he averaged 30 DK points per game on 1.36 DK points per minute. He also averaged a 15% usage rate in those games. He proved that statement right last game they played the Hawks on the 18th. Dropping 29.0 DK points in 29 minutes. I’m expecting another 25+ DK point game from him tonight as his price will continue to raise with the absence of all these guys.

James Wiseman $4,600:
Wiseman is slowly getting his confidence higher and higher. The second overall pick in this year’s draft has had some trouble transitioning into the pros but Draymond Green seems to be really working with him to improve his game. One of the main issues with playing him in DFS is his foul troubles. He has posted at least 4 fouls in 3 straight games and only saw 13 minutes last game against the Lakers because of early foul trouble. This makes me shy away from him in cash games, but love his ceiling in GPPs. The Spurs are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league. This is the perfect time for Wiseman to reach a ceiling game against lazy LaMarcus Aldrige. He should be able to play bully ball inside and have no issues scoring or rebounding.

Cameron Johnson $3,900:

Tyler Herro is ruled out. This opens up some value in Miami. Gabe Vincent and Kendrick Nunn are now in play.
Cam Reddish and De’Andre Hunter are doubtful and I assume won’t play. This is unfortunately still not enough to unlock value in Kevin Huerter, but it does unlock value in other stops for the Hawks. Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Kris Dunn are also still ruled out. Hawks will be shorthanded. This should cause Brandon Goodwin to get a huge increase in minutes and usage rate. As well as, giving Soloman Hill run.
