What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to another edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Always remember, the value on DraftKings is not always the value on FanDuel, or any other site you are playing on. If you haven’t signed up for core plays yet, make sure to do so by clicking HERE. We have daily, weekly, monthly, and season-long packages. You can try us out for as little as $5!
Value is mainly determined by two things: injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury news. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price, and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.
If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will be times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Whether it is on the free side or the premium side there will always be people discussing injury news and how it has impacted the slate.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker $4,400:
NAW went off last game exploding for 52.5 DK points in 33 minutes. Posting a 34.5% usage rate with Eric Bledsoe and Zion Williamson out. Since Lonzo Ball is still out for the Pelicans, NAW is still a viable play at $4,400. Alexander-Walker has slowly seen his role increase this season compared to last. He is a top DK PPM player in this offense and sees a huge usage rate on the bench. Even though Bledsoe and Williamson are expected back which will ruin any more 10x hopes at that price, NAW will be the primary ball-handler off the bench where he has flashed 30% usage still.
The projections portal is showing Nickeil Walker-Alexander as a great value play on the slate and projected for 26.45 fantasy points. As well as, popping up in 20 out of 20 optimal cash lines according to our optimizer.
Jarred Vanderbilt $3,900:
With Ricky Rubio and Juancho Hernangomez ruled out Vanderbilt is going to step into a bigger role tonight against a bad Memphis defense. In the two games where Vanderbilt saw 20+ minutes, he averaged 30 DK points per game on 1.36 DK points per minute. He also averaged a 15% usage rate in those games. This is a spot where he will easily see 20+ minutes again and at $3900 anything over 20 fantasy points is a great game from him.
The projections portal is showing Jarred Vanderbilt as a great value play on the slate and projected for 20.53 fantasy points. As well as, popping up in 19 out of 20 optimal cash lines according to our optimizer.
Tristan Thompson $4,800:
Thompson has always been one of the top and most underrated rebounders during his career. His short time in Boston has been no different. He has rebounded 7+ rebounds in every game this season and has yet to go under 18% rebounding percentage in a game. That means he is hauling in 18% of the missed shots in a game. He gets a great spot tonight against the Magic who is second to last in FG% this season and middle of the pack in pace. He will need to see another 20-25 minute game tonight, with Robert Williams out.
The projections portal is showing Tristan Thompson as a great value play on the slate and projected for 25.37 fantasy points. As well as, popping up in 11 out of 20 optimal cash lines according to our optimizer.
